The "blue wire" that big bob is trying to refur to is called the "remote" it is responsable for turning the amp on and off when U turn the radio on and off. It is suposed to be spliced with the
'remote" wier coming from the radio, it's always blue, and usualy next to the black, red and yellow -power wires on the back of the radio, the "remote" wire frome the radio sends a (+12v) signal to the amp to cut it on. this voltage stays on keeping the amp on until U cut the radio off, and the amp with it.
If your amp is staying on its not the ground at all, U just have a constant power source going to the "remote" screw terminal on your amp.( dont worry at all, your fine, jus find a way to control the remote signal)

I believe theres an on/off terminal on most amps. Run a wire from the ignition accessories position, like the radio fuse area, at the fuse box, after the fuse, to this terminal.a 10 to 16 gauge wire should be fine. Also, I hope you fused that power hook up to your amp, close to the batt as possible, or you could have a serious fire.

Incase your wires are not colored teh same on your amp, you need to take teh remote wire and connect it to the remote wire on your head unit (radio). This way you amp will cut on and off with your head unit.
