Any tips on training a 6 month old male boxer? Does neutering help?

He's already crate trained but I'm just having problems on the house breaking part.

Thanks!

Any animal could be trained once he was wained, from 5-7 weeks old. Dogs are known to one of smartest creatures. You should not have left him till that old " 6months" to start training. The first few months in the animals life are most valuable and the spongest (?) In 6 months , your dog should have absorbed most tricks he needed.
Anyway, start from new. If house breaking part meant he does it at home, them, every time you feed him, leave him in the garden till he does it there. To start with stay with him there , when he does it, praise him ,give him a biscuit or something he likes, so he will understand that it is good thing to do here!

If you meant breaking things in the house, then, keep him under your eyes and give him things to play with. My dogs loved dirty socks, and sandales. I left a pair of dirty socks and an old sandals in their bed.
Then, they started on noisy toys. Now, they are happy with their fresh marrow bones from the butcher. These bones are very good for their teeth , skin and fur.

Congratulations, you have what I call the clowns of the dog world, of which I have two.

Its easy if you have another dog and a dog door.
All the above statements are good and will work, you can also try putting paper down some place and if you catch him in the act pick him up and put him on the paper. Don't lose you temper, but be firm. Also remember he is a puppy (baby) and it takes time for him to build up strength to be able to have control. Don't expect him to be able to hold it for more than a couple of hrs. at first, will never probably be able to hold it more than 6-8 hrs.

No neutering will not help, but it will help with his male hormones(aggression, hiking his leg, etc.) the earlier you have it done the better.

Aren't they the best dogs...?!..we have a male and a female..he was a breeze to house train..she took much longer...I used the hot dog trick...after eating or drinking..and even every couple of hours I would take them outside and wait for the inevitable..after peeing or pooping..(and during) I would say "go pee" or "go poop"..which ever was applicable then they would get a small piece of hot dog...I did this for about 2 weeks..now 2 years later I let them outside and say go pee or go poop and they do it on command...every now and then they get another small piece of hot dog...hope this helps...and good luck..ps..one last piece of advice...if puppy has an accident in the house..mop all you can up with paper towel then pour peroxide on it..leave it a couple of minutes then mop that up with a paper towel..towels!!! no smell, no stain...and cheap...they don't even go back to that spot cos they can't smell it anymore..

Open up new areas slowly. If you give him the entire house at once, he will poo near the doors or in the bedrooms. We let the dogs in the kitchen, then the living room, using baby gates. Or do just the downstairs.

walk him more, anytime he eats and drinks take him for a walk
and walk until he goes to the bathroom
if you will dedicate yourself to the task you can quickly housebreak your puppy, try taking him out every 2 hours
or so at first, then 3 hrs and so on
walking stimulates them to use the bathroom
