I've found IKEA to have smaller furniture/beds selections-also alot of things that get built in to walls save space (but are not practical for apts or dorms if you have to put bolts/nails into walls)
Make sure you take all the dimensions of your rooms/windows etc(make a diagram showing heating vents/etc that can't be blocked) The downside of IKEA is putting it together but its often not that bad. Also consider simplicity by reducing the amt of furniture that you have. More tables, etc get in your way and encourages clutter. The area will look alot bigger if you decorate/furnish minimally. Buy one item and see how it fits in and how cramped you begin to feel then you may change your mind about adding any addtional items. Use the closet space to the max and discourage yourself from collecting things not needed. Purge your belongings/clothing frequently by way of Goodwill/Value Village/give to friends or needy causes. Think twice before buying stuff that may end upnot being that useful.

I hate rooms like that. I had an analogous difficulty at our previous domicile, each and every wall had some thing there! I recommend you come across new fixtures. much less is extra. Get a flat show television you could dangle on the wall, a corner unit for each and all of the knick knacks or a skinny flatter credenza form unit decrease than the television. rather spend the time finding for versatile chairs/sofas etc. i could bypass the settee altogether, decide for a small 2 seater perhaps; discover issues that would desire to extra healthful the room that don't take in area. forget approximately the coffee table and decide on smaller thrilling products and compact ones you could flow and tuck away. A small ottoman can function a table too with a effective great tray atop it. there's a television tutor designing for small areas. Do a seek and perhaps you will discover some thing. you may decide on one comfortable piece of fixtures and pillows rather too.

most college campuses have stores close by that cater to the living space of the students, so I would find a place that sells dorm furniture.
