Dan 1:7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.
These young men when carried off to Babylon were still very loyal to God. When they were offered defiled foods (forbidden meats like pork, and food offered to idols) They asked the Eunoch if they could eat vegetables and drink water, they tested it for 10 days, and were better off.
In chapter 2, they were going to be killed, but they held a prayer meeting, prayed that they and those others who were to be killed would be saved. Then Daniel had the vision of the kings dream which would save them.
In chapter 3, king Nebuchadnezza build a golden statue and told all of Babylon, even the jews, to bow down to the statue. Only Hananiah, Shadrach, and Abed-nego did not bow down, (Daniel was not there). Out of over a million Jews, only 3 were loyal to God and did not bow down to the golden image. And when the king had them thrown into the fire, they were saved.
read the first 3 chapters of Daniel.
Their strengths were that they followed God all the way, even if it meant death. Daniel could also interpret dreams. And these men were 10 times wiser then all the men in Babylon.
