my nana died one year ago and that very night, around the time she died.... i left my body and sort of made it half way through the house but then woke up suddenly in the same position i went to sleep in? do you die for a moment, leave your body and then rewake? it has now happened about 10 times over the last year and i can make it happen if i sleep in a position where i kinda crush my neck with my arm- if that make sense? it is quite peaceful but i cant hear myself breathe when this exp takes place...

Astral Travel is a state of altered consciousness. Either consciously (awake) threw mental training (like meditation), or subconsciously (asleep). Everyone does it weather they are aware of it or not, but mostly it is done while asleep. And agree with Wolf's statement.

Sleep is very closely associated with death, to begin with. There are several levels of consciousness, and sleep is the last level before death.

I believe in spiritual awareness. At the exact moment when my mom died (I was 13 and deep sleeping in the next room), I woke up semi-conscious with a flutter in my heart, and cold chill through my body. I thought it was strange and then the next moment, I heard my uncle crying and telling my aunt that she was dead. There was absolutely no way for me to know it, it was a spiritual awareness.

I don't know much about astral travel. I do not believe you died, I just believe you were able to "escape" the restraints of your body spiritually and move about, while you were still asleep. I believe everyone has a soul, a spirit and a body. I believe the spirit is what moves beyond and takes adventures.

Astral Travel is more related to unconsciousness than Death though some who travel astrally believe they are able to commune with the dead in A-space. Dead people are no longer connected to their bodies. Astral Travellers are tetherred to their body with what they describe as a silver thread.. Beyond Astral travel there are many many different out of body experiences that people claim to achieve. You may require more research before you know what question you want to ask.

Not something I've done much of, but for me it's always been a conscious thing. It's not so much a dying as getting your consciousness to go somewhere else...like daydreaming outside your body, almost, except it's not daydreaming....maybe more like your mind walking around without your body.

In my experience, it's been as you described--not instantly somewhere else, but having to sort of move from your physical position. I'd guess that can improve with experience, though.

What is called "astral projection", or "out of body travel", is not death, but rather demonstrates that there is no death.

We are not "in" bodies. Physicality is not our natural state. When we experience astral travel, or near "death", THAT is our natural state, or at least closer to it. We are formless, eternal, and our minds are capable of creating worlds. We are part of one infinite Mind; this Mind is perfect Love, and only knows us as It created us. We are free.

YES, its all related. Why should we think we have only 5 senses? Maybe terrified bible thumpers do, but there is so much for us to learn about our spirit, we are only babes. If we all would read, Conversations With God by Walsh, no matter your beliefs, it has a lot of common sense answers to our spirit questions.
