You cannot attain God consciousness whilst under the influence of any form of intoxication. This will increase the temporary covering shrouding the original consciousness, generally the spirit soul is illusioned enough in the material life, to increase that illusion is heading in the wrong direction.

Of course,if you want to illusion yourself with a simple faith system that psychologically deceives you into thinking you can perform these types of activities and still attain liberation, what can be done.

However if you avoid these popularist notions of pseudo religionists and seek real enlightenment then you must abstain from intoxicants that cause harm to your mind and material body, which should not be abused, because they belong to God.

Do a quick study of so-called Christians and you'll see that you can do just about anything you want and still "follow Jesus." I'd say that if you feel like you're getting closer to God when you're high, you should stop getting high, because it's proof that it's addling your brain. There's no God to get close to. Try rational thinking, analytical problem solving, and accepting responsibility instead of avoiding reality.

Genesis 1:11-12 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you..

As long as you are functioning member of society and are relatively responsible, I don't think it is a bad thing...although it has quite a stigma in our society(and happens to be illegal). Personally, I would prefer in a society of stoners, than drunks...I feel alcohol can be quite dangerous. As far as loving Jesus and feeling closer to God, well...why not? Catholics use priests for intercession....I guess you use pot...whatever works for you :o).

And it does.

It artificially raises your level of consciousness to a place that transcends the normal world.

But it gets distracting with having the munchies. Thinking about sex. Losing the high. Laying there like a quad after some good chronic.

As much as you want to be spiritual the drugs bring out the good and bad desires. You need discipline to deal with it.

Your own conscience will guide you on that.
God gave every seed bearing plant for our food.
Just do not let your attitude adjustments become a stumbling block for someone else.
Because you want to follow Christ, you must also learn to NOT judge.
You can be a stoner, just be careful of casting them.

Religious people will say no. They'll probably say sometihng along the lines of "Look at who sells them. Aren't they sinners? Do not help them by buying their stuff. Illegality is against god." Or they'll make some obscure reference to parts that say we should avoid anything harmful to our bodies, but we have to remember that marijuana isn't anymore harmful than the wine Jesus himself drank.

Fact is this though: The is NOT one single reference in the bible to marijuana (or even other drugs). Considering marijuana is a plant that has existed since before Jesus, maybe he should have said something about it, but truth is he didn't.

Spiritisim (sorcery, witchcraft) actually happens when you take drugs that afect ur emosions, reflexes, brain waves in a negative way.Taking does kind of drugs opens ur subconsious to demons.

as long as you do not allow your pleasure to become the "idol" in your life that replaces God.

but dont fall for that, "i can see God, when i get stoned" as satan comes in a pleasing form, and the effects of drugs and alcohol can be very pleasing, until one has to climb out of the rut they dig, or worse yet, pass on to be judged before they can make things right with God.

I do not see how you are not thinking clearly when you are onthe stupid dope. You have to live your life for Christ and remember that your body is the temple made for God that is why sexual immoralityis so bad.
