No significant difference except in size, and overall availablility. CF cards are typically found in larger cameras, DSLRs for example, because they are the largest of the memory cards. I like this size card they are still relatively small but big enough to hold in my gorilla like hands.
SD cards are probably the most popular and are found not only in cameras but other devices as well. Smaller than CF but larger than other formats such as XD
Memory Stick is unique to Sony products and because of that, I wouldn't OWN any product that uses it. It isn't a BAD memory device, but you ARE hostage to SONY's decisions on whether they'll keep making mameory sticks.

The difference really is only what is accepted by various digital cameras.
Some will only accept one type. CF stands for Compact Flash, SD stands for Secure Digital, MMC stands for MultiMedia Card.
Memory Stick is unique to Sony products.
price and speed of read/write and of course the dimemsion.

Physical dimension. All of them use magnetic media to store pics or files, it is just the physical dimension that sets them apart.
Of course when you are going to buy one, you have to know which type your device is using. Compatibility is another issue.
