it is mentioned in the Bible in 2nd Samuel, Chapter No. 6, Verse No 23, that… ‘Michael the daughter of Saul - she had no sons’ - 2nd Samuel’, Chapter 21, Verse No. 8… ‘Michael the daughter of Saul had 5 sons.’ One place it says… ‘No children, no son, no daughter’ - Other place… ‘5 sons.’ Further more if you read, it is mentioned in Gospel of Mathew, Chapter No. 1, Verse No. 16 - it says about the genealogy of Jesus Christ peace be upon him - as well as Luke Chapter No. 3, Verse No. 23, and it says that… Jesus’ father, that is Joseph - his father was Jacob’ – Mathew, Chapter 1, Verse 16. And Luke, Chapter No 3, Verse No 23… Jesus’ father… Joseph - his father was Hailey. Did Jesus’ father… Joseph, had two fathers ? What do you call a person who has got two fathers ? Or was it Hailey - or was it Jacob ? Clear-cut contradiction.
I have given the references, you can check it urself. ?I have many more of such contradiction.
My aim is not to hurt any christian but this is the reality.

You are taking the Bible too literally. In the past there was no written word, therefore stories etc were passed on by Wise men or Shamans of a tribe. When you get this, and parochialism caused by Mankind rarely travelling once settled in an area, also needing a King's permission to travel, stories vary. When these are written down in one book later, there will be contradictions. Also don't forget that there have been many translations, Aramaic to Hebrew to Greek to Roman to English (various levels). Chinese whispers leave things changed and confused, this is why Priests have found full employment until this era.
Politics played a big part, you could not tell a campfire story which may upset a Tribal leader, therefore the story may be changed.
You are also confusing Religion with God, sorry but God is God and is implicit, Religion is the means of power used over Man throughout time. Read some history rather than messing around trying to pick bits out of the Bible to suit a talking point.
There is also a misconception as to when the Bible talks of Sons. Each main character ie Jacob is a leader of his tribe, therefore reading Jacob, means seeing Tribe Jacob, each son would then carry on with his own named Tribe. Create war against any leader, win and that Tribe ceases to exist, thus the name also is removed from some area stories.

most of the solutions above are belittling you, Shahid. forget them. you've a valid element. If the Bible is the note of God, it should be precise in those type of small information, and no human being has arise with a proof. i ought to like a proof, too. i'm no longer searching to debunk any faith; I basically prefer to draw close the reality. no longer 'reality' via fact. ('God suggested it, i trust it and that settles it.') or 'reality' via dodging ('that is a secret; you need to settle for it on faith'), yet some thing that a authentic looking, sensible human being can draw close onto. I have stumbled on actually one faith that comes on the fringe of this, notwithstanding it also has loose ends. So I keep searching and questioning and being informed i will hell. Calling someone spiritually inept is more effective like an act of desperation than like a proof. BTW, how did you get your call? i assumed you had to be useless to be Shahid? it really is a authentic question. i'm no longer being frivolous or nasty.

In those days there used to be dearth of names. For an example Shahid. Many people had the same name and there used to be confusion. Joseph, Mary was a common name. Therefore, you find in NT many Mary's and many Josephs. The one who is not well versed with the Bible is bound to get confused and use the information he assumes to tarnish the image of Christianity and Christ. How sure is he about his own father? Did his mother tell him the truth. I know I am sure she did not. The one who has two fathers is called b...... I hope the message has been hammered home.

If you read the Greek, Joseph is "reckoned by law" to be the son of Heli, indicating (according to some scholars) that Jospeh was Heli's son-in-law.
It is true that there may be inaccuracies in the Bible. These may be brought about by incorrect transcription or translation. It may be that the differences are merely a matter of our perception and lack of understanding of the culture and customs of the time. However, the Bible can still be accepted to be a reliable record.
You may find that for a particular historical event, let's say a battle in World War Two, there may be differences in eye witness reports about exactly what went on and in what order. That does not change the fact that there was a battle, nor does it change the outcome. Each witness would be likely (in most circumstances) to give an acurate narrative of what happened. A historian mught go through all these statements and form their own theory as to what happened but, as the historian was not an eye witness, whatever theory he comes up with is little more than conjecture.

There are many contradictions and inaccuracies in the bible, this is because it has been translated from the original language (which was most probably aramaic) and then translated again and then again, and then tampered with throughout history. We all know that when this happens to any book it loses its reliability.
Despite this there are still a lot of truths remaining within it. I urge Christians to go back to the original and authenticated teachings of Jesus the son of Mary.

Can you please get it right if you are going to read the bible and accuse it of being contradictory know your facts.you are so far off. In 2 Samuel 21:713 Saul had more than one daughter . The 5 sons were of his daughter Merab.
As far as the geaneology goes get a good NIV bible and read the footnotes. Not a clear cut contradiction again I have proved you wrong with the word of God. Instead of taking so much time to try and refute the Bible why not homnestly read it with an open mind and learn the truth. You are not hurting us chritians you are hurting yourself with your lies about the word of GOd. Let me give you a really good verse to rea dnad study for your own sake. Revelation 22: 17-21

I was raised a christian and I found many contradictions reading the Bible. As a kid I asked my religion teacher to explain whom did Cain marry when supposedly it was just Adam, Eve and (until killed by Cain) Abel in the whole world. She told me that the Bible were nice stories to explain the word of God to everyone. So stop taking it literally people! if you believe in a particular God you'll learn from their sacred text, if not you could just read it as a collection of nice stories. Please do not spend your time "trying to catch each other", instead try to accept and understand other points of view, even when you don't agree with them.

The Book says "woe to the scribes". They were the ones who made copies of the holy words in our books, because they
didn't have machines to do it back then. I could say this in
a foolish way. But they were just human, and capable of making
mistakes.
The Book says that Jacob, (Israel), actually gave birth to 70
children. The number 12 is symbolic of real creative forces which
come from Allah, and are also referred to in the Quran.
The Book also says that there were 12 princes and nations of
Ishmael.

Judith... LOL. They don't give us any bible. They dont even talk about the bible in muslim countries, with the exception of issues pertaining to islam. eg rejecting trinity. Aside from that not once have i heard of any muslim imam giving out contradictions in the bible.
As far as these false bible you are talking about,, bring you proof if you are telling the truth.
Take my word for it, Christians such as Pat Robertson spend more time on islam then on their own religion. Understandably because they need to reduce the influx of converts to islam.

It's full of contradictions and different points of view. I think it should be viewed as a history book (from that time period and geographic area, about 7 or 8,000 years ago till 2,000 years ago).
