Lots of water, until you think you are full of water and then drink some more. Cranberry drinks of all kinds and attempt to stay on foods that do not contribute to more calcium or uric acid then your body needs. These items tend to cause more problems in kidneys. Check out some websites on calcium and uric acid if you like. They were very helpful for my husband who had two very painful bouts with kidney stones, also. Get better soon.

If you are still having pain after a month. go back to your Dr. The Dr. can order a special CT scan for stone studies (not painful)
If it has not passes in a month, it may need to be removed. I have had lithrotripsy(Blasting the stone) several times, and it is not near so bad as the stone.
If your Dr. won't pursue it , see another Dr. or go to the ER when you have pain.

Drink lots of water
Buy a sachet of a urinary alkaliniser from the pharmacist (Ural or Citravescent or some similar thing)
Eat yoghurt, particulary those with active (?yeast) culture
See your doc and have a review - perhaps you need a repeat urine test
Take some pain relief (paracetamol (acetaminophen) alone or combined with codeine and nonsteroidals are good eg ibuprofen)

Probably blast it down and pass it and then he will test it. If you don't break it down and try and pass it - you will be in for a WORLD OF HURT. You may want to have blood work done to test your acid levels. If they are too high...you could be dealing with something else...
water is ok, but drink lemonade. trust me...
