my cat does this every night and morning

Mine meows when I'm busy and not playing with him. He brings a toy on the bed (like he did at 4am this morning) and plays with it, sometimes trying to wake me up to play with him.
When your cat brings you toys at appropriate times of the day, praise him and pet him as he thinks he's bringing you a present (they'd be dead animals if he was allowed to go outside, so be thankful). Try to play for him a bit as well at that time. If it's not an appropriate time, ignore him-this way he'll learn when he should and should not bring you "presents."

Oh yes my cat does the samething. But you see his soft toys are warm and some are mice, rabbits snakes.I have learned to keep my window closed. A cat loves you when they bring you things.Isnt it nice to be loved?!!

Yeah, mine loves to play fetch. When he's bored at night, he will bring me things to throw. Sometimes when I wake up, I find his little toys by the bed, sometimes on the bed with me. He did this moreso as a kitten, but he still does it now.

Hi there...this is so sweet. One of my cats does this at night around bed time. He likes to play a few rounds of fetch.

I read a book by a cat expert (can't remember the name now) who says that cats are trying to teach you to hunt by example when they do this. My cat has given up on birds and lizards and now brings us items from our neighbor's clothlines.

Ours does this. We eventually started putting up the toys at night so he wouldn't wake us at 3 a.m. to show off his "catch". So, he just got more resourceful and started going into the laundry room and "killing" our socks and underwear and bringing them to us. heh heh...

I wish, My cat brings me things like mice and little frogs.
he gets great pleasure in depositing them on my sleeping face. He is so proud of himself. Lucky we live in the AUSTRALIAN BUSH where there are millions of frogs (NOT)

yes i sure do it's cute they just want to play with you like fetch or tugging (all 4 of mine do it. they normally want to play fetch)
