if they a not rude in public in front of you guys, than invite them & invite a whole lot of your supportive friends. they may feel bad if you extend your generosity & treat them nice in front of your friend. if they turn down the invite so be it. you have already extend your hand. it take 2 hands (your & their) to make a clapping sound.

OK here is what you do you call up the wife and tell her the party will begin at 10pm and that way when the brother starts getting hot about not being asked you can insist that you told his wife 7pm or what ever time the party really is the Mom will see her boy at the party you wont have to put up with his arrogance for as log a time as you would normally have to endure and the wife might just get the blame .. teee hheee Ain't I a stinker

You are hosting the party, it's your party. Do as you wish.
If your mother in law wants to have the party, let her decide who is on the invite list.

The best thing to do is keep his family happy. Only until you go from g-friend to wife. When that happens, then get your revenge. You'll be # 1 then. Until then, keep them happy so he will pop the question later.

Words from a vintage song: "It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to", and you may be crying if you invite your boyfriend's mother and don't invite her "other son" and his wife. Drop the "baggage" for one evening and be the "hostess with the mostest".

Which would be the worst? I would accidentally forget to invite them. after all who is throwing the party you or the m-i-l? A party is supposed to be fun and enjoyable.

Don't let mother in law dictate who you can or cannot invite. Do what you think is best!
