Faith alone is not enough. You have to believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross for your sins. There are some that believe he was a profit, that is not true according to the Holy Bible. So, if that is what you believe (The Holy Bible) then yes you have to stop sinning, (at least pray and keep praying to stop, no one can just stop we were born into sin.YOu have to pray for strength daily and because "we struggly not against flesh and blood but principalities in high places. You have to have more than faith, don't get me wrong, Faith is good to have, but you have to believe also.Hope this helps

You must confess sin, with contrition...intention of being sorry for committing it and not doing it again.
Satan and the demons know about Christ. They have faith he exists and will do them in. Faith alone is not enough. The Book of James tells us that Faith without Works is like a body without a soul; dead.
We cannot live in continual, unrepentant sin and expect to be in God's good graces.

Faith and giving up sinning is not a monopoly of one Religion. Sinning is doing wrong that is not just against God's law but most likely is the misuse of one's right against another. Eternal life is open for everybody. I just am not sure if there really is that kind of life in our material existence.

The answer is simple and is in the bible. God gave us his only son and send Him down to earth in the form of a human being, where He was crusified and his blood washed away all our sins. and all we have to do is to accept that He is our personal savior. faith in God alone will not save you unless you have faith in what He did for you. This does not mean that you can sin how ever you want to!!!!But our God is a forgiving God and will forgive you your sins if you truly regret them and truly make an effort not to sin.

It is beleif and acceptance that God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to be crucified for our sins. So yes, faith is enough. But a true Christian will feel the need and desire to make a change from thier sinnful ways. The process is slower from some, but none the less there is a desire to change.

Ignoring GOD's laws and worshipping a man is apparently enough to qualify for eternal life, even though both of these contradict the teachings of Jesus and are in direct violation of the most sacred of GOD's commandments.

You must give up sinning willfully. None of us will totally conquer sin as long as we are in this sinful body but true christians will get a ressurrection body when we go on to be with the Lord and that body will not have a sinful nature so we will be able to conquer sin. A true christian accepts what Christ did for him on the cross to pay for his sins and decides he's going to follow Christ for the rest of his life. He then takes the steps that he needs to take to grow as a christian, namely, saturating himself with the bible, spending time in prayer and fellowshipping with other believers. The more you do that, the more you will grow as a christian and the less you will find yourself sinning. But you never, in this body, reach a point where you don't sin anymore. As long as you are in this body there will always be some struggle with sin. You can't just say you believe or have faith and just continue in your old ways. You also can't change in your own power. But when you totally commit your life to the Lord, he gives you the power to change. You can't just say 'I have faith' and keep going on living anyway you want. The bible says "faith without works is dead"(James 2:20). But works(or good deeds) do not save your either. Works are an indication that you have true faith. Works are a by-product of faith. The bible also says that 'the devils believe and they tremble'(James 2:19). Satan and his devils have all the faith in the world. They know christianity is true. It doesn't do them any good. It's too late for them. God is not a divine kill-joy sitting up on a cloud trying to rain on our parade by hindering us from our sin. We just don't really see what sin really is. Sin is a form of slavery. What are your sins personally? My advice to you is to try to stop commiting them on your own. You'll find that you can't. That's because you're in bondage to them. You're a slave. You probably say, 'Oh, I could stop anytime I want". Every alcoholic says that. The first thing they have to do at alcoholics anonymous is to convince you that you can't stop on your own. Every alcoholic deceives himself. It's no difference with any other sin. Sin makes you a slave to it and sin will eventually destroy you right here on earth, not to mention where it will place you in eternity. God loves you. His desire is not to rain on your parade. His desire is to give you true joy on this earth and eternal life with him. Stop trying to play on both sides of the fence, one foot in sin and the other in christianity. Give yourself totally to the Lord. He will replace whatever you think you now enjoy with other things and desires that will give you a true and lasting joy, not just up today and down tommorow. www.intouch.org

You have to give up sinning as well
James 2:14-26 is just one of many passages to prove this.
