Before I start, I am not bashing anyone I believe anyone has the right to do whatever they like as long as it doesnt physically affect anyone else. The Question. I knew some kids when I attended middle school (12-13 yrs old) I always thought they seem like they are gay. Just the way they talked ran typicall steroetype things. All throughout Middle school and high school never mentioned being gay. Now after school You look on a sight like Myspace and sure enough they are. So my question.... Is someone who is gay mentally know it form a very young age? Possibly even right out of the womb?

Yes it is a mental issue, but denied so. Have you ever heard of gender nonconformity? it should be known this is a separate issue than homosexuality. This is accepted as a mental issue. Often people do not know this and is a cause to help many children make a decision to be gay along with an experience of homosexual act as simple as kissing between two of the same gender. Even gazing and dreaming can influence a person to choose a sexual partner of same gender. It is a mental issue and often comes from forgotten memories of when a child was young and had an experience innocently or not. Many children experience severe post traumatic disorder from forgotten memories. That is covered by mental illness protections as well. It is being said gender nonconformity children often become gay, leading people to think they are similar issues and they are not. Some children may have hormones that effect them to have a gender nonconformity while other children may learn characteristics that cause them to have a gender nonconformity issue. Children with nonconformity issues do often choose homosexual issues because of circumstances they encounter, but many do grow out of gender nonconformity as well. Choosing homosexual lifestyle is a lifelong process for many , while there are adults that make the choice for reasons of their own later in life. It is important to understand that a child does not have to have a gender nonconformity to choose homosexuality. They are separate issues. Any child can form an attraction on the same gender.

I think it's both a physical predisposition -like some people are hypersensitive to certain sound frequencies and their young friends make fun of them for being different when it was a genetic miscode - or not even a mistake but a particular rare pattern or something.
Kids may or may not feel different from an early age. Their mannerisms may or may not seem "gay". It's connected to how self-aware they are, and that comes with age and experience, and with when they reach a point in their maturity where they recognize and are ready to accept their differentness.

Not from the moment they get out of the womb. NO DUMB@SS - JK. Look, from the moment they get out of the womb they don't have any feelings of sexuality whatsoever. There have been tests which show different brain patterns in some homosexual's. However, there is no genitic code for being gay. I do thank you for not bashing anyone for being gay. It shows your more mature then 50% of the people in the US. Personally, I could care less if someone is gay, as long as they aren't grabbing my @rse.

As you grow older you tend to get a sexual urge. Some woman are attracted to men some are attracted to women. I don't think it has to do with a mental issue, more of a sexual interest. I know sex is both emotional, mental, and physical. When you first find interest in anyone, you first look at what catches your eye, which leads to your sexual desires. Your mental and emotional feelings come later. No one usually uses there mind when finding an interest in someone at first.

Some people believe that they were born gay, but others believe that as they developed they became that way... I myself though believe that you are gay if and when you accept yourself as it. Also, the environment you grow up in has a huge effect on you too.

I believe most people who are gay are born that way.
