I have six little 5 week old kittens. I have just started giving them kitten wet food today. And we also bought them a litter box today. We tried to help them understand how to use it........but they obviously didnt because a few hours later i came in and there was poop everywhere in their playpen (my old playpen is where they sleep)) So i cant go in there and change their blankets every few hours. I was thinking maybe i could go and get a big litter box to fill the whole playpen?
So can i buy a big litter box and put it in the playpen?

make sure to put each kitty in the litterbox... most of them know what to do if you put them in there and they have a chance to dig around. Some will hop out right away but be persistant until they scratch around a bit. Also try putting some of their waste (I know... gross) in the litterbox and putting them in there and letting them sniff around. They'll get it. Make sure to do it with each kitten.

Just put a normal sized litter box in the playpen. They will figure it out. One has to be available to them at all times. And don't even think about filling the playpen with litter, what a stinking mess that would turn into!

Cats don't like to poop and eat in the same areas. They will go out of their way to poop away from the food area. Putting the poop in the litter box is a good idea. Once they start smelling that the waste is there ((put the waste there then the cat)) they'll get the idea soon enough.

So, why do cats sleep of their muddle bins? the main reason a cat will sleep in that's muddle container has to do with risk-free practices. An insecure cat or one feeling very threatened in some way will sleep contained in the muddle container. Cats - incredibly indoor, relatives cats equate their muddle bins with risk-free practices greater desirable than a new child does their blanket or thumb! A cat having administration over that's muddle container ability the cat is risk-free. if your cat is stricken he will maximum in all probability advance out of it interior a month or 2 at maximum. grant him with a secure, risk-free environment and he could end. do no longer punish him, or make a great deal of it, or that's going to inspire the adverse habit. instead, you are able to conceal the muddle container in some way while no longer in use, yet which would be difficult as you should no longer comprehend while your kitten needs to apply it :)

Where's the momma cat? Usually she teaches them all about the litterbox. They will get the idea if you keep putting them in the litterbox. Putting a little feces in the box can help too, only a use little though.
