...to fall in line with Allah's faithful? I believe that according to some interpretations of the Koran, if we refuse to convert the "faithful" can then kill us without mercy. Are we all ready to die for our non-belief?

So much for "there is no compulsion in religion" (Qur'an: 2,256)
They're not following what Mohammad taught them in his book.

They can't kill us if we don't. I am a muslim and know the Quran well. That little coward sitting a whole ocean away can't demand a damn thing of nonmuslims. The Quran says "Let there be no compulsion in religion. One who believes as grasped a most trustworthy handhold that can not break, and as for the one who denies our signs? Let it be between him and Allah, for Allah is all knowing" I would really like to see that little coward step up person to person on his own and say that to a single AMeircan. Heck, let him say it to this muslim woman. Now, I am not saying I am the strongest woman in the world, but if I can whoop my hubby whenever (extremely rarely) we DO get into a physical altercation, I am pretty sure I can whoop that little shrimp.

I hate how those cowards hide out in their little caves and try to push what they have no right to push. If they ruled, women would not be allowed education as they are obligated to receive in Islam, girls would be kidnapped and forced into unwanted marriages which is against Islam, and widows would not be able to live any kind of life and probably starve to death along with fatherless children, although the Quran does not stop a widow from even remarrying if she so pleases. They go by culture and they want to push that bs culture on even the Quran following muslims (which they are not). No thanx, I like my freedom that Islam grants me. I like being able to work, keep my wages and shop till I drop when I get my check every Monday, go to college like I am, AND basically do anything I choose to do since I have that right ISLAMICALLY. If it's my money, I don't have to listen to anyone. The only time my husband can have any control is when it's HIS money.

Thus far, the number al-Qaida has managed to kill IN TOTAL is about 1/12th the ANNUAL number of deaths from the flu in the US. How much do fret over dying by flu every year? Now didvide that by 12 to put al-Qaida in perspective.

Its just their way of trying to scare us. A warning of an upcoming attack. You could look at it as an honorable thing to do I guess. They believe that Infidels are damned, so by them saying "We invite all Americans and believers to Islam, whatever their role and status in Bush and Blair's world order," Gadahn says. "Decide today, because today could be your last day." are they in fact, in their own way, Attempting to save our souls? It all depends on how you look at things. In the middle ages, Christians did the exact same thing to Muslims. If the converted, their lives would be spared.

well i would like to correct u sir , am muslim and am reading quran every day and i WANT you to know that islam is too far from what bin laden says , really too far , even i doubt that he is muslim , thats IF he is really alive , cz as i know he died from long time ago , so how he appeared again? mmm i think SOME people know , anywayyyy if you dont beleive in what i said , that islam is too far from what you think or heard these days , then come here to our countires in middle east and then you will see how we treat you , sure we want kill you :)) , many people here are to far away from islam , and act more like europeans , but these never means we are monestors , and i guess you SHOULD respect others religions as we do "we muslim people" , we respect chirstians , JEWISH ( this one is special for the one who answered above) and any other religion .
we here live muslims and christians togather , visiting each other , i myslef have many chiristians friends , i talk with them , eat with them , laugh togather , exactly as they are muslims , expect they have thier own way of praying and thier ceremonies , and i visit them in christmas .
so please stop this silly game which had began by someone we all know him well ? and he is about to drive all the world to a big stupid war for nothing?

how many times do we have to repeat this

Al-Qaida doesn`t represent Islam or Muslims

Al-Qaida is a terrorist group that was funded & trained by Bush`s government itself

the proof is that they have killed more Muslims than non-Muslims, they did bombings all over the Muslim world, Egypt < Saudi Arabia, Jordan

go watch Fahrenheit 9/11 or whatever there is similar

but again

Al-Qaida is a terrorist group that was funded & trained by The US government to push the Russians out of Afghanistan

So CUT THE CRAP

P.S. I advise you to see this video of a Christian American who went to live with Muslims for 30 days, May god guide you

You have misread the Holy Qu'ran. The compulsion lies not with Muslims, but with the unbelievers. By not converting, unbelievers force Muslims to obey secular law with no regard to the belief of our people. Secularism cannot heal the world, only the peace of Allah can. Honour must guide our will, and if infidels die, so be it. They have been warned, and their blood shall not be upon our hands.

Excellent question. I suppose if a gun were to my head, like the FOX news team, I might consider converting to Islam.

The one page essay by Dr. Walid Phares, "Islamic concept of Al-Taqiyah to infiltrate and destroy kafir countries" explains how a convert will become a terrorist:
http://www.fisiusa.org/fisi_News_items/news109.htm

Phares states, "It [taqiyah] is done to prevent the new converts from seeing the real face of Islam; at least until their faith or mental conditioning is strong enough to make them turn against their own country and people."

Not all Muslims blow up things, yet "jihad in the cause of Allah" "jihad fee sybil Allah" is "fard ayn" "compulsory duty" for all Muslims. Why? There are rules from the Quran for combattive jihad. Read this:
http://www.notislam.com/id8.html

What does the tape from Gadahn mean? Does anyone realize that Muslims are supposed to "dawa" "invite others to Islam" before jihad?

According to al-Mawardi an 11th Century Shafi'i jurist:

The mushrikun [infidels] of Dar al-Harb (the arena of battle) are of two types: First, those whom the call of Islam has reached, but they have refused it and have taken up arms.… Second, those whom the invitation to Islam has not reached, although such persons are few nowadays since Allah has made manifest the call of his Messenger…it is forbidden to…begin an attack before explaining the invitation to Islam to them, informing them of the miracles of the Prophet and making plain the proofs so as to encourage acceptance on their part; if they still refuse to accept after this, war is waged against them and they are treated as those whom the call has reached…

In the Hidayah, vol. II. p. 140 (Hanafi school):
It is not lawful to make war upon any people who have never before been called to the faith, without previously requiring them to embrace it, because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith, and also because the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war… If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do."

You are totally correct. Islam is insidious, it encroaches on a culture slowly and deliberately. You may be interested to read a document which discusses the degrees of Islam in great detail (50+ pages) -- "From dawa to jihad - the various threats from radical Islam to the democratic legal order":

I would rather die a Martyr for the cause of Christ than live as a traitor. If they think they can do anything to me without God's permission they are mistaken. My reward is in Heaven. When I die, I'll be much happier!
