I understand where you're coming from.
The Revelation was the first book of the Bible that I actually read. It's one that I'm really drawn to, and it provides me with hope and comfort and motivation. It is super-scary in parts, but such is the world that we live in. A world in which one can go outside their home and get raped or killed is super-scary, as is a world where countries are starving, children are being prostituted, campaigns of wars are carried out all over the world, and natural diasters are increasing and getting deadlier. You can look at the book of Relevation and you can pick up your local newspaper, and compare it side-by-side. It's that type of world that we live in.
Reading the book of Relevation is no more worse than living in the Revelation. In the book, the angels cry out, Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, for what's coming next.
In short, everyone is Satan's target, especially those who are Christian because they know the truth of what will happen. I don't doubt that bad things started happening to you after reading the book of Relevation, but that doesn't give you permission to stop reading it. As a matter of fact, you should try to read it even more, because whatever is "attacking" you, is trying to stop you from seeing the truth.
In the book of Revelation, there's a blessing given to those who attempt to read and understand the book. (This is not given in any other books in the Bible.) In my personal opinion, it's perhaps the hardest book of the Bible to understand, it's hard to read, and it's hard to digest. In our generation, it's definitely difficult because it's so real. Ppl 200 years ago didn't have to deal with the type of reality that we do now. And that's because time is ending rapidly, and these things must come to past. It's important to read this book so that you are aware of what's happening, and you see the signs as they pass-- so that you understand where you are in the timeline. There will come a time when you can't pick up your Bible and research these things, you'll just have to know them in your heart, and that time is fastly approaching.
Don't be afraid. Understand that fear is of the devil. You must resist the devil and he'll flee from you.
Jesus gave us one commandment-- to go therefore and teach all nations. We have to spread the word, that's not a choice. We can't worry about making Satan angry-- he wants to kill us whether we believe in God or not, but if we believe in God, it just makes it that much harder to fight us.
If you're feeling afraid, I'd strongly suggest reading the book of Psalms, especially the beginning psalms. It will help comfort you.

I think what happened to u was just a coincidence. I love reading the book of Revelation because it gives me and other Christians hope. Although the content is frightening, it's a joy to know that Jesus will be coming back to take His followers to Heaven. Just thinking about that makes me blessed to have Jesus in my life and knowing that I'll be in Heaven w/ Him some day is amazing. Reading Revelation is supposed to scare u and warn u about the anti-Christ. As the book of Ephesians says, "Put on the whole armor of God so that u will be able to stand against the tricks of the devil." I truly believe Judgment Day is coming soon w/ the way the world is today. The book of Revelation should help u be prepared should it occur while we're still on earth. Good blessings to u!

There is always a price to pay here on earth when you do the right thing and other people, misled by the bad guy, hisself, start attacking your character. Many people get fired from their jobs because they refused to violate their values, morals and ethics. Whistleblowers - those who save the public's lives and/or money because they bring to light horrendous wrongdoing - usually brought about by greed - are always villified and sometimes destroyed by an employer even though there is a federal Whistleblowers law. Courage is perhaps the greatest quality one can have yet it can destroy ones life. Then again, Christians know that life in the here and now is transitory and that rewards are granted in the hereafter. So, being courageous and pointing out evil is a good thing. Being evil, that is hurting other people because of greed, ambition, lust, etc. is a bad thing. So, if you know of people who are screwing over someone else, tell on them. Snitching is a good thing when it destroys a bad person. Problem is, we must have concrete evidence that someone is bad, that is, he or she is consumed with greed, blind ambition or lusting after another person who rejects his/her advances or other identifiable vile human actions, before we act.
The Christian thing is merely a philosophy, rules by which one can live a life, guided by the individual's reality. That is why the acticle of separation of church and state exists: No one religion or any religion can intrude upon the state's need to create laws with consequences to guide and control the masses. You get a million of us together and you might have two dozen religions represented. If we are talking lawmaking and the judiciary, no one can reference their religious beliefs simply because all that exists in any religion is to be accepted in trust. But be careful, greedy, power mad and lustful people have created sub sects and played out an insane scenario that can only succeed if hundreds of weak, needy people bow at their command.
If it doesn't meet the common sense test, reject it. Read Revelations and put it in perspective. After all, the book was written by men and as such there is no feminine perspective. Needs an update, I think.

same things happen to me whenever I read the Bible, pray for others, do good etc... the enemy attacks...so all you can do is keep doing good even more because of it!! paul said EXPECT troubles when you stand up for the word of God.........so keep going forth. expect enemies so youre not like the word that fell on bad soil... and "fell away" when times got hard..for even beginning to try you must bear fruit!!! u must SEE the fruit of ur labour! Jesus said a man who puts his hand to the plough but then turns back isnt worthy of the labour....dont let the enemy take that awesome gift from you!!!! that would be a shame.

That is the way it is and allways willbe until christ returns.
But no matter how intense the persecution, the church will complete her task of proclaiming the gospel to all nations before the end comes. Remember, when persecution set in on the early church, the gospel penetrated new areas and the number of disciples increased. Can we expect anything less in the time of the end? No 'Secret Rapture' Today, the idea of escaping the end-time tribulation by way of a "secret rapture" is popular among evangelicals, but the Bible teaches no such doctrine. Rather, the New Testament shows that truly converted Christians-men and women of deep and abiding faith, who are filled with the Spirit of God, and who hope and yearn for the coming of their Lord-will still be on the earth at the time the "Antichrist" ("man of sin," or "lawless one") appears (see 2 Thessalonians 1:1-2:12). Make no mistake; the church will be "caught up" to meet Christ as He descends from heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17), but this event takes place some few years after the Antichrist arrives on the scene.
Notice the events surrounding the Second Coming of Christ:
The faithful saints will be given rest from their troubles when Christ appears (1 Thessalonians 1:7).
The wicked-"those who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ"-will be destroyed at the same time the faithful saints are given rest (verses 7-9).
The Antichrist, or "lawless one," will be destroyed "with the brightness of His coming" (1 Thessalonians 2:8)-that is, at the same time the above two events occur.
Plainly, the reward of the saints and punishment of the wicked are associated with the same event-"when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven" (1:7), "when He comes, in that Day" (1:10), "with the brightness of His coming" (2:8). This scenario hardly leaves room for a secret, pretribulational rapture.
An honest investigation also reveals that the passage does not envision "left behind" saints, or men and women who are converted after Christ comes secretly for the church. The context is critical here. Paul is speaking to the faithful saints of the Thessalonian church (and, by association, the Church of God in general), not to the unconverted or half-converted. Listen to his description, and see if these sound like the spiritually impotent or unregenerate:
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels" (1 Thessalonians 1:3-7).A people whose faith "grows exceedingly," whose love "abounds" toward others, and who are known for their outstanding "patience and faith" as they endure "persecutions and tribulations" are hardly "lukewarm" Christians who are not really serious about living their faith. Nor are they Christians "in name only."
No, these are real Christians, true followers of Jesus Christ, and Paul did not dissuade them from believing that they would live right into the time of the Antichrist. Why, then, should anyone today think that all true Christians will be snatched out of this world and taken to heaven at the beginning of the tribulation and reign of Antichrist?
Plainly, the idea of the church being snatched away to escape tribulation under the reign of Antichrist was completely foreign to Paul's mind. The Remnant Church In Revelation 12, the devil is unsuccessful in his attempt to destroy Christ when He is born (verses 4,5). He also fails to destroy the "woman" who gave birth to Christ (verses 13,14). Enraged, the devil goes off "to make war with the rest of her [the woman's] offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (verse 17).
Who are the rest (or "remnant"-KJV) of the woman's offspring? Christ was her first offspring; the rest of her offspring must be Christ's brothers and sisters-the Spirit-begotten members of the family of God, which is the Church of the Living God.

ho there, Please allow me to shed some light on this subject. Ok When you serve God or learn scripture, you instantly become a target for the enemy... and for a long time I was afraid of that. But I relised that we are on a winning side and that we have to use authority with the enemy through the name of Jesus. He has to flee. Its totally worth all the blessings and peace you get. Its actually living in the spirit, walking by it. When you arent reading the word, or praying or walking by the spirit... we are nothing to the enemy... not untill we start learning who we REALLY are in Christ do we become a threat to him, because he hates God and all of us!
