No, but neither does my wife. Or my kids for that matter. Maybe I should get a dog eh?

Our first cat didnt, we tried calling its name all the time and it never came...ever. Then after about 6months or so after we got it we took it in to get its shots and the vet found out it was deph (couldnt hear!) So then after that we tried keeping it as an indoor cat but it really wanted to go outside. So when we wanted it to come in when it got dark all we did was flick our outside lights on and off a couple times. Within 10min he was always waiting at the back door to come in, as he never really strayed to far from home. I think by the end of it though his name changed every week (he couldnt hear so he didnt care right!)
We have had 3 cats since, They have all come when called (or close too it.....unless they didnt want to be bothered.) But we also call them on occasian to give them some medi-cal cat treats. The cats LOVE them but they are from the vets office and so are low calerie treats - meaning they can have as many as we want to give them! Our cats are spoiled animals!

Mine usually does unless she is paranoid or catatonic. She spends an inordinate amount of time hiding in the plumbing and staring at walls. The rest of the time she is almost normal but will bite if I'm not entertaining enough. She hasn't been abused in any way in 12 years and never by me or anyone in my house. She was terribly abused as a kitten and she's never really gotten over it but I don't blame her seeing how she has deformed paws and only half a tail now.

Mine doesn't. If I'm lucky, and have yelled in just the right tone, he may lift his head to look at me, usually though he doesn't even open an eye. The only time he comes to me is after being alone all day, or night depending on my shift. Even then he doesn't like to be touched.

Like someone else said, if I call them at the same time I'm cracking open a can or scooping dry cat food, everyone's my friend!! I have over 10 cats.

Sometimes. There's a noise I make to call him. I've found that cats can be trained much like dogs. If he's sitting too comfortably he refuses to come.

I find that he will come to me but not anyone else.

My girl cat doesn't, unless you say "Food!" or "Kitchen!". My boy cat usually will. That is, unless he's somewhere he shouldn't be and you call him to get him out. But if he's just in the living room and I yell his name from somewhere else, he usually will come running.
The best way to get either cat where I am is to shake the treats container. :)

Hi there...I certainly know mine do, but I always make sure I reward them with a treat so they're on to me. I've been nicknamed a cat herder by my animal training colleagues. Something similar to this funny commercial: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8215789355288508566&q=cat+herd Enjoy!

I have to admit that mine do the eldest one more so than the younger one but they like to keep an eye on me all the time
if it not one then the other never gave that a thought before

Sometimes, no. Sometimes yes. If you call them to eat their food, they will come but sometimes are not because they taught that you just want to Joke them or you just want to Fright them so do not be like that so they always follow your orders like dogs. If you have a dog & cat make them friends so if they like to fight you will just make them friends so that you will not be disturb what are you doing.
