Snoring usually occurs when a person is so relaxed that the air passage is not completely open and noises are emitted as the person breathes. My husband sleeps on four pillows, bending his breathing passage, and causing him to snore. I don't think it is unusal for people to occasionally snore, nor do I think it is abnormal.
Sleep apnea causes a cessation in breathing which is a serious problem. I suggest you consult your pediatrician or family doctor.
There are diagnostic tests and treatment for sleep apnea.

I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. My 2 year old has been snoring as long as I can remember. This is a form of sleep apnia and I know this because he was on the aperia moniter for it. I would bring your baby to the docter and ask about it. It could be serious and it might not be. But its better to be safe then sorry. Good Luck

That seems rather young. I think you should mention it to her pediatricain if not already. Maybe she has a slight cold that is affecting her tonsils and adenoids (glands in the throat). Either way ask a doctor. Sleep apnea consists of breathing that stops while asleep and wakes the person up.

I'm sure it's normal! My cousin had a baby one month ago, and we visited him this past weekend. He snored sometimes when he was asleep, and my mom, my aunt, and my grandma didn't seem fazed by it (a combination of 7 kids between the 3 of them)... plus, we had a nurse with us. No one said anything was wrong!

i would seek the advice of a pediatrician to see if maby her adnoids and tonsils are okay. the adnoids can get in the way if they are enlarged. if allergies run in your family this could also have something to do with it.
