Yes most definately. You have a choice of permanent in dash receivers such as pioneer ---very expensive (pioneer)
portable units do not installation and can easily be transferred between vehicles and stored out of sight when not in use. (tomtom , garmin)
you could use a laptob with a gps dash receiver and compatible software --- least expensive if you alrady have a laptop (Microsoft Streets)
Remember that upgrades will have to purchased depending on road changes etc... usually on a yearly basis.

Garmin has kits that will let U transfer the Unit from vehicle 2 what ever & make the mounts Permanent or a CUTE sandbag mount that sits ontop of the dash.

YESSSS u can, i just did one not too long ago and it was a double din pioneer avic-d2 ...The depth is the problem that came across, i had to do so much work to get the unit to sit flush with the dash... want to see it? email me and will email u the pictures of my custom work.
