what is ment when a Christian says "only the strong survive?"

That was Darwins Theory. Survival of the fittest. That has to do with evolution.

I don't know. I've never heard a Christian say that before. It is possible that the person that told you that may have meant those strong in faith survive. On the other hand, he/she may have meant that those only those that take a stand against evil survive.

I don't really think that's a Christian way of thinking.I think it would be more like...
"Only those who rely on the strength of Jesus Christ receive salvation."
I've never heard a Christian say that, that's more like a typical video game tag line or a military movie slogan.

I am a christian and I never say that, and a True Christian knows that we are NOT strong, but it is God who strengthens us....
Those who think they will be first will be last......
