I have gotten a nasty email or two the last time I answered this question. It has been ask a few times now.
There was no great flood that covered the earth. There was no ark that was large enough to hold two of each critter on earth. An aircraft carrier would not be large enough to do that. Then you would have to have 10 more of them to put the food on. It had to be a very high tech ship as well. What about all that poop that had to be flushed or did they just make everyone poop off the side? Or they would have had to have a lot of men with shovels.
Naw did not happen.. No way possible. I know the man lived hundreds of years so he had time to build these great ships but keep in mind they did not know how to tell the years back then. A year was something like 2 and a half months long. so a 100 year old man would be around 600 years old back then.
Again it never happened.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

Good observation. Humans were gifted with free will, so some turned from the purity (?) of such a small number, Noah's children - to returning to the old ways of sinning. I'm sure Noah was dead, and the leadership slowly changed to something to what we have today, corruption and indifference, etc.
But GOD did not fail to eliminate sin, he does not need to, it's a tool of his. Humanity needs to eliminate the desire to sin, but instead brought it back, willingly.
If GOD wanted he could remove our free will - and remove sin. but then we'd be just so many puppets or robots running around. Not what he wants.

The flood became a tragic actuality, not basically a narrative. God is likewise infinitely in simple terms. yet he made a covenant with the worldwide that He could nor break it with the help of flood returned - with the help of the rainbow. just about each and every subculture has a great flood 'tale'.

God did not fail at all. He could have taken out the whole world if he wanted. God hates sin he gives us free will because he loves us... it is we who have turned against him back in that day when the only human that still followed God was Noah. God had mercy on Noah and allowed him and his family to survive and thus multiply the earth again.

Only if you believe that the Bible is the only version that explains the flooding of part of the world. Since there are other books and theories, you may have to seek an non-religious answer.

No, in order to eliminate sin, God would have to eliminate free will.
