Having gained the authority from believers to make up their minds about self and world for them, maybe ideological authorities begin a life long process of indoctrination or as some call it 'brain washing' designed to make up the minds of believers with a model of self and world divided by a spiritual conflict between a good one in Heaven and an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth.

It probably is. You're not talking about true christianity. You're talking about some christian cult. The true christian churches don't brainwash. If you want to see real brainwashing, just go to the public schools and see what they teach about origins(of the universe and life). There's only one view allowed(evolution) and that view cannot be questioned in any way. You can lose your job for even showing the evidence against it. That's not education, that's indoctrination.
