I had an old recipe for sloppy joes that had dill pickles chopped, pickle juice, brown sugar and I think ketchup. I can't find the recipe and I wanted to use it for my wedding, which is THIS coming SATURDAY. Can someone please help....( I have looked on every recipe site out there)

I'm having an outdoor wedding with picnic fashion luch (everybody brings a dish to pass) and a grilled lemon chicken dinner.

SLOPPY JOE RECIPE FOR A GROUP

20 lb. ground beef
4 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. garlic salt
2 (46 oz.) cans tomato juice
1 gal. catsup
1 jar dill pickles chopped
1 cup dill pickle juice

1 med. onion
1 med. green pepper
2 stalks celery

Brown ground beef and drain. Mix all ingredients together and simmer. Serves about 100 people, depending on bun size and amount of filling desired.

Congratulations on your special day, this is my own recipe for sloppy joes,Take minced beef, onion & brown out with a little cooking oil, when thats done add tinned chopped tomatoes, tomatoe purey,fresh garlic chopped, a table spoon of both soy & worstershire sauce copped mushrooms, basil,oregano,thyme,parsley, add up to even portions to make about a 2 teaspoons per kilo of meat. Allow that to cook up then add finley chopped black Olives,dill pickles, & 1 tea spoon of brown sugar if you require.

We just use the sloppy joes mix in a can and then add dill pickles/pickle juice or even relish to the mix and the hamburger.. YUMMY!
