You don't. That's why it's called "faith".

Well first of all the bible cannot speak. But as for it being truth, we can trace back thousands of years of history in it. The first city in the world that we know of was named jerico. In "the epic of Gilgamesh" there is a tale that mirrors noah's ark every detail and we can verify there was a flood in sumeria at the time the tablet was written. We can verify hundreds of stories in the bible from other sources. All of them from completely different cultures.

Stop making yourself look stupid and do some research. Saying, "how do you know the bible wasn't written by liars" makes you look ignorant. If you tried to do some research you would see I'm right. And in modern day we have faith healers. Tumors the size of a tennis ball don't just disappear without warning. You can research this too. And please don't say "it could be a coincidence." When thousands of cases like this are rerported and can be verified it is more than coincidence. Saying that is just like saying me pulling the trigger of a gun and the bullet coming out of the barrel is a coincidence and not repeatable. That's just dog ignorant, that's not even regular ignorant, that's beating the dog in the head and it dosen't know what is going on ignorant.

And where did you get the 6/6/06 thing? That was just a couple of stupid people yelling about a date. And to further pwn you, it's 6/6/6 not 6/6/06. I don't think there's anything in the bible about that though.

They had no reason to lie. Actually, many of the authors were killed because they were spreading the teachings of Christ. Archaeologists have proven much of the Bible as accurate as well as historians. Also many phrophies have came to pass. No, the Bible did not say that the world would end on 6/6/06. It says that no man knows the day or the hour that God is returning and the world as we know it ends. You're thinking of the Mark of the Beast. The mark of the beast is the # 666 received on the forehead or on the hand. It is the mark of the Antichrist people must received during the last days in order to buy anything.

The Bible did not say the world would end on 06/06/06. You obviously listen to others and just like them, never read the Bible.

The Bible has shown and proved its validity by prophecies that are continuing to be fulfilled as time moves along. Current prophecies from the restoration of Israel as a nation all the way to the Muslim uprising as you see it today - and the Antichrist will again prove the Bible for he arises from Islam - evident in Islams gaining steam.

You should actually READ the book yourself rather than listen to deluded people, and therefore becoming deluded yourself. I recommend starting with the New Testament which is where Christians learn who we are and how we live - THEN read the Old Testament.

The Bible is telling the Truth, and I will show you why. But first I must tell you that there is nothing in the Bible about the world ending on 6/6/06. That is pure speculation. Jesus said that no one knows the day or hour. That being put to rest, let me tell you about the Bible and its Truth.

First, each of the writers of the New Testament were either eyewitnesses to the accounts contained therein, or they were scribes for the eyewitnesses.

Second, each of the eyewitnesses to Jesus' life, death, burial, and resurrection died violent deaths because of their testimony, except for one. All they had to do was to recant their testimony about Jesus, and they would live.

No one will willingly goes to their death for something that they know is a lie. If Jesus hadn't done what they said He did, they would've recanted to be able to live a while longer. But they died with "Jesus is Risen!" on their lips.

Since what they said must have occurred, then you can go to the rest of the Bible and see if that is true. The stuff recorded there really has a ring of truth to it. I would say the Bible has mankind down pat. Inside the Old Testament is greed, corruption, adultery, cannibalism, wickedness and debauchery. It shows that we need a Savior.

Another thing to consider is this: Jesus said "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not one letter or one stroke of a letter will disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished. So whoever sets aside one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:18-19)

Therefore, since the Apostles told the Truth about Jesus in the New Testament, and since Jesus held such high regard for the Old Testament, it must all be true.

And if that's the case, you have been listening to lies that other people have told you, since you believed that the Bible said that the world would end on 6/6/06. I recommend that you actually read it for yourself, and see what you think. Start with the New Testament, and I recommend Matthew's Gospel first.

Umm, hon, where does it say in the Bible that the world was going to end on 6/6/06? I've been through that book completely three times and read various passages for many years. Darned if I can remember where that one is.

Well first of all I don't believe the Bible is true. Many things the Bible has said happened we know never happened.

But I do not believe it predicted that the world would end on 6/6/06. Some people have predicted it would based on the bible but MANY people have thought the world would end MANY times, and as far as I can tell that has not happened.

I cannot comment about the "6/6/06" thing, but as for the remark about "Every word of the bible is true", that is a contradiction in terms, because the bible itself is so full of contradictions!

Yes I have seen The "Penn and Teller" programme.

The Bible is obviously just an ancient collection of writings, and nothing more.

Look, start reading Genesis. When you get to the part about a talking snake, close the book and realize it's just ancient mythology.

Regarding your last point, no, the Bible doesn't say the world was going to end on 6/6/6. They didn't even use the same calendar system we use back then.

Where in the bible does it say the world was going to end on 6/6/06? Do some research before you start ripping on something. Have you read any part of the bible? Doesn't sound like it. If you haven't read it, your opinion means nothing. Read it and think for yourself instead of listening to the lies other people spread. You just sound ignorant. I respect your decision to not believe, but to do do so out of ignorance garners nothing but pity from me. I'll pray for you. I hope you find happiness.

I believe the Bible is "telling the truth" because it is written by people who have experienced God first hand. Besides, it IS the WORD of God & if you read Genesis...everything was created when God SPOKE. Also read St. John 1:1
NO WHERE does it say that the world will end on 6/6/0/6!
The number of the Antichrist is purported to be 666, but numbers that appear in dreams are often inverted, so it could also be 999.
