It's only a week away, so don't be so impatient! He's probably suffering some form of withdrawal symptoms from being deprived of his smoke.
By the way, did he quit smoking on his own accord or was it done involuntarily? If it is the latter, you have your answer to his behaviour. Maybe he's stressed.

Talk to him and see if he can give some insight on his feelings. If he doesn't offer much give him some time. I would think that someone no longer getting nicotine after having it in their system for so long would go through some changes as their body adjust to the sudden stop of nicotine.

I think that maybe he's just focousing on not smoking rather than being intimate. You have to remember that he 's fighting a battle that is a tough one.Just support him, he'll come around.

I do not know if your relationship is slipping due to the abuse in your waking life. It may or it may not have any effect. of course abuse in general is going to have some effects on a person.

Why not talk to him and find out what the problem is? If the two of you can't work it out go back to his doctor and talk with the doctor. I wish you lots of luck.

I think you need to talk to him about it. Maybe it is the fact that he is dealing with both giving up cigarettes AND getting surgery that is where all his energy is going. You need to talk to him about it and help him with it.

Good luck!
