Parents should be the "usefull" components in any situation... Not the children. Parents should do everything in their power to assist their children, until the children choose to go out on their own and ignore us.

That depends on the kids.
I have 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law.
All 4 take care of me when I need them.
The grandchildren are the benifit of letting your own children live past their teenage years.

With six children 2 girls and 4 boys i can say there both equal, and equally as easy to love Good Luck!

I have 2 sons and 3 daughters

i think they are all about equally "useful", which is, not very useful

however, they are pretty wonderful

Daughters, they are more likely to take care of their needs as they get older.

Since I do have both I would have to say both. They help in a lot of ways to keep us and their new famlies on track. But in different ways.

I don't think you should be thinking in terms of which is the most 'useful'. They are not tools. They are your children. Are you 'useful' to them?
