There are still some things that I haven't told my folks about, and I'm a lot older than you are. More than twice your age. I don't bother to tell them because it's none of their business.
Unless you plan on holding this like an axe over their heads, I wouldn't mention what you did at 13. No parent wants to hear that. They could even go to the police and bring charges against the guy, because that is MOST DEFINITELY considered statutory.
If you bother to tell them at all - wait until you are out of the house - and living on your own.
Just curious. Would you want YOUR DAUGHTER having sex at 13?
Think about it.

well.. ive had that talk with my daughter (age 10 now) so id feel like i failed her.. and failed myself as a mother and roll model.
its very important to me that my children know that sex is not how you get validation for love..
but here i sit.. from experience because i was 14 when i lost mine and im 28 with an 11 year old.. teen mom in high school with a baby on the way my senior year. Might I add.. I was never taught self virtues.. or values.. i looked for validation .. so I teach my children against that..
it's understandable.. but i hope my kids don't repeat history

If i was an older mom and my child was a girl and i found out that she slept with somebody for the first time when she was 13 i would probably be very ill! but if my so does it whe he is 13 i'll tell his dad so he can shake his hand and tell him good job!!!!

I think no matter how old you get your mom will still be a little shaky hearing anything like that. Why does your mom have to know? My mom has over heard me and my sisters gabbing about our youths (we are in our 20's and 30's) and her jaw hits the floor every time she hears something new. It is like we are still her babies in her mind no matter how old we get. I think it is terrible that your mom never talked to you about those things. It sounds like you might of waited longer if she did. I was 15 and now i feel like I was to young.

Good question. I know I'd freak out and blame myself for not being more aware of her personal life. My girls are only 7 and 9 now so I've got a few years to make sure that never happens....

Well it would probably bother me some, but what's done is done and there's no turning back time. My daughter will be 13 soon, so I'm going to talk to her about sex soon. My parents didn't talk to me about it either and I don't want her to have to find everything out by herself like I had to.

my situation would be very different
my daughter and I talked many times as they were growing up, and they talked more times with their mother, about sex, relationships and what we hoped and expected of them
if they had sexual relations at the age of 13 we would have been disappointed in them and afraid for them
my youngest child is 16 now

I would accept it and go on. I mean what can she do now? Ground you! I would let it go if I were you. I don't know your mom, but if you are asking on YA, you must worry about her and how she would take it.

I wouldn't worry about it........What's done is done, and if you feel like sharing it with your mom someday, she has nothing to say........I would only hope that she would be a bit angry at herself for never discussing this with you........Take care, dear.....
