Originally those laws also prohibited fishing, playing cards, and such on Sundays. Religious fundamentalists in other eras got those laws through and not enough people want them changed yet.
Do you really want them changed? Think carefully. If such laws didn't exist, Sundays would be more hectic and less restful. We also wouldn't have the ice cream sundae.
Why don't you ask what that has to do about not serving liquor on Sunday?

This is totally religious. It really has nothing to do with seperation of church and state it is a law that on one has been successful in challenging yet.

Here in Maine I rember when you couldnt buy alchol on sundays until after 12 but things change and money talks, i guess they wanna keep u sober until after church, lol. Money over took , and fear of God has left some people.
