I have heard of dogs being included in an Order of Protection. I believe that some 30 states have enacted this. And all states should protect animals from abuse.
If I got a divorce and my husband went after my dogs and cats as a way to get even, he better get an OP against me.

I'm not sure what the order of protection for dogs in NYC is (it sounds like a good thing!), but if you ever see Animal Protection Officer Anne-Marie Lucas, tell her I have a terrific crush on her from watching "Animal Cops". What a gal... :-)
