Definitely take action. Most girls sit around and wait for guys to take interest in them, and when guys don't take action - we get disheartened.
My advice - invite her to do things in a group, it's not as intimidating. That way you'll get to know each other better and asking her out will come more easily.

Simply hang around her, talk to her, find out her interest. How would you be friends with a guy? It's basically the same thing. Be a good listener, offer advice if she needs it. Don't stalk or anything like that, just be nice and say "Hi, how are you this morning?" with a nice smile and just be helpful. If anything she will think, hey this guy is so nice, there isn't anything he wouldn't do to help you out. Then in her mind she will think, I really need a nice guy, one who isn't just looking for the next girl to lay on. Don't push her, just smile, wink, stare a little and have her catch you briefly. Chemistry will happen quickly. If a girl is made to feel like she is attractive and wanted, she will melt easily. Just lay on a little of the butter.... be a ladies man. Be playful, most important MAKE HER LAUGH. (be tactful, not nasty). If you don't catch her, don't worry there are many girls out there dying for a guy to just notice her, as a woman I have noticed that many men miss their chance because they are a wall flower (just stand there twiddling their thumbs). There are so many guys that I would have loved to have dated, but none would approach me and by time I found out, I was already taken. Figure the worst thing that could happen is that they say no. I would rather have taken a chance and lost then never to have taken a chance to win. Good luck.

Ok, well then get a little closer to her and share your feelings if it is a month or so in your relationship. Then, if she doesn't like you in that way then you just have a good friendship; but if you really do love her really really tell her and if she still feals friendly then find someone else, and TRY to be friends with her. If you cant dont act like Dawson off of Dawson's Creek dont hang on to your frist love or you... another love. But, do remember girls do have feelings to. Just be your self around her, but if you cant tell her I am sorry better luck to you anyways.

You are going to have to be brave and ask her to walk with you to a class or maybe have lunch together . Spend time with her without being too pushy . Be kind and compliment her . Tell her you think she is a great girl . Let her know by your attention how you feel about her . If she gets to know you and starts to show it
then continue to spend time with her . Relationships have to grow they don't just happen . I'm sure you will do great ! The 1st step is always the hardest one to take !

Start off slowly, you dont want to rush her, become her good friend where she knows shes comfortable to come to you whenever she needs and then maybe down the track if she shows she has feelings for you, then persue her, being friends is the best starting point because you learn about each other without the commitment there first.

If you really like her, why don't you tell her. But since you are too shy to tell her, I have some suggestions:
1. Practice telling her in front of a mirror.
2. Practice telling her with your family.
3. Practice telling her with your friends.
Try all of those and I'm sure she'll say yes. If you're not ready, practice longer until you are.
