Some great answers, above.
Almost every time I read the Bible, I find promises. Many ane listed above.
It is great to know that "God is not a man that He should lie neirher the son of man that He should repent (change His mind)". We can KNOW with ABSOLUTE assurance that every promise will be kept.
Some of the "promisses" are available for everyone, Christian and non Christian, alike. These are laws rather than promisses. Some examples of these are : - "whatsoever a man sows that, and that alone, shall he reap" ; "Honour your father and mother that all may go well with you and you shall have a long life".
It is good to know that favour with God is based on His grace and not on our good works and that we are condenmed if we put our trust in our righteousness, We can be clothed in His righteousness if we ask Him to forgive us and we repent.
Looking forward to seeing your responses, jemhasb.

The best thing I know about the promises is that they are true and you can lean on them. Because in Christ is the Amen...the "so be it." He promises that he is with us always, to the very end and that he will take us to His Father's house (heaven). He has gone to prepare a place for us, and will "raise us up" at the last day.
There are so many, many wonderful promises in the Bible for those who believe....get a New Testament, read it and underline them as you find them. And ask Jesus to guide your heart by the Holy Spirit as you read. I can guarantee He will.

In the whole Bible, about a third of the verses are promises!
One of my favourite is in Isaiah 54:9-10:
9 "To me this is like the days of Noah,
when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again
cover the earth.
So now I have sworn not to be angry with you,
never to rebuke you again.
10 Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

More of an observation than a promise:-
Romans 8:27-29 (New Living Translation)
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters.
I'm learning more and more to trust God and he always comes through. Even when I think He has given up on me. It's like, you're in a minefield and God's telling you where to put your feet. You have free will enough to put your feet anywhere you choose, but you'd better trust God if you want to get through it.

The Bible gives us many promises, as you said. One is the promise of eternal life on a paradise earth. Psalm 37:29 says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." The Bible tells us God's purpose for the earth and mankind and he assures us that his purposes will be fulfilled. We can have confidence in his promises because there are so many that have already come to pass just as he said they would. Fulfilled prophesy is a very strong faith building tool.

There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated— And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.
Every commandment has a promise. Honor your father and mother so that you may have long life, is an example.

The most important promise- the one to start with is that we have been promised salvation through Christ Jesus, all we need to do is accept this gift, and believe
there are many promises- one just needs to read through the Bible - they are not hidden. i hesitate to go through them though, way to many Christians are waving the banners of god's promises but refuse to obey. How can we claim these promises when we insist on living our lives as we choose to live for our own pleasure- the promises are for those that follow with obedience in faith- we need to stop the childish name it and claim it and decide if we really believe God- Jesus said, if you love me, you will obey my commands, but all I see is a lot of excuses why we don't have to.

No harm in asking a religious question here , and in reply you will get mostly religious answers!
You have already received many replies advising you where to get more info, so no need for me to go into all that!
Promises, promises! All religions will give you promises, what do you want?? they will give it you, Paradise is the best one, whatever your idea of heaven is, it will be yours, just believe, and all is possible!! (isn't it)??
Then again maybe not, but if it gives you comfort to think that you will be going to your idea of heaven after you 'snuff off this mortal coil' then good luck to you!
But whats wrong with just believing that when you die you just go into an everlasting void of nothing, no heaven, no hell, just a very deep and dreamless sleep.
I have no problem with the Christian idea of heaven or the Muslim idea of heaven, except that I don't believe all that absolute cr*p, and just wish they would keep it among themselves, I have no illusions about "sitting at the right hand of God" Why would I want to do that?
I have no illusions about a feller dressed in red with horns waiting to stick a 3 pronged fork up me!
That's all it boils down to illusions!
But good luck in your quest for the 'truth'!
