The beauty of a spare room is that you only have to please yourself. I would chose a soft, buttery yellow for the walls. It will look great with the ivory molding. You can change the accents with the season. In the spring and summer accent with blue which will be springy and cheerful. In the fall and winter, use red or orange tones for warmth. Or if you want a more contemporary look, paint a nutmeg or caramel color on the walls and accent with black and red.

I have a great idea! Paint the walls a light yellowish green, and have white trim. Use bamboo or wood look blinds on the windows. Get rattan table accents and have either an avacado area rug, or a tan wall to wall carpet with a sisal accent rug. Some plants in the corners will tie in with your greens and also use some bright orange accents for a tropical look(which I love). Now the important part: mirrors. Use as many mirrors as you want but be sure to get or paint the frames either gold or rattan/bamboo. Clump your plants together on different levels and place an accent lamp with a fluorescent bulb in it(to stay cool) below the plants. You won't believe how cool the blinds' shadows look on the walls and the plants' leaves shadows look on the ceiling!
have fun!

If you have noticed, the current "trend" to calm colors in bedrooms is pale (very pale) blues/greys and golds and chocolate accents. I suggest you find some pattern that you like in a throw pillow, a painting or a piece of fabric that include a nice neutral color. You'll have all the matching colors in that item and all you have to do is pick out two more then use the item to accent the room. I love the pale colors Kilz paint puts out (I think you can get these at Walmart) and they are very nice to work with. Godloveya!

use the whitest of white u can get for the walls, then use an accent color of choice to paint the molding, and add accent pillows and textured rug in that same color. for example, lime green----its a fresh new color, but not to overwhelming. i know it sounds crazy, but think about it. u dont have to use lime green, just any accent u want. good luck!

Generally, a guest bedroom should be designed with a heavy feminine touch, much like a bed and breakfast. Lots of floral and light, airy colors. Something frilly on the bed would be nice, also.
