Unfortunately, most southerners don't like northerners, or "Yankees." When folks from Maryland and northward go down south, they typically don't buy into the "when in Rome" southern hospitality. Southerners then think of them as rude and inconsiderate, and over time, they've come to stereotype notherners that way because of it.

I think some people from the south do. My personal opinion on it is, yes sometimes depending on how much of an accent there is, and no because to much is annoying!!

When I moved from NJ to VA, everybody thought that I talked "funny" or that my accent was "too harsh".
So I wold say, NO.
