Because, something happend to them, that makes them shut people out.... usually something having to do with mis-trust in the past. You need to prove to him that you're trustworthy and honestly care. But, I'm not making any promises, that this'll work.

im a loner i wish i know how 2 make friends and I espress my feelings, im autistic i know its hard to make friends and being a loner hurts

It might be more than being a loner. You say your young, are you under 18 and he is older? If so, he just might be acting like a adult and not taking a chance in going to jail. esp if he IS attracted to you.

My guess would be is he really does want to be your friend but is scared of being hurt or rejected by yourself and/or others around you, easiest way to get past this continue to be kind and caring to him he will eventually see that you are a decent person to be around, and will start to like you for who you are......
I dont think its a case of not wanting to express feelings, i just think he has been seriously hurt by someone or is just a sensitive person and is easily hurt......give him a smile when ever you see he is down.

They are secretly terrified of rejection but do not want to show a weakness...they do not want to be wrong and look like a fool. Just keep on trying with him and hope that your positive open energy will have an impact on him.
