They expect you to have a designated driver. I am usually that person and I have sure met some lulu's!

Good point, they know you are gonna get drunk and then want to put you in jail. Why don't they make a law so that a bar can't have a parking lot and that will probley cut down on drunk driveing. You should send this question to your congressman, or better yet, to the President.

its a good source of revenue for your locall government and it makes the cops look good.90% of bar patrons will leave at closing time and be over the limit. does that mean they are too drunk to drive? only if they have something wrong with their lights or forget to signal. i am not condoning drunk driving, but alot of people get a dui for no other reason. what started out as a good thing has turned into a moneymaker. when you get a dui. you get a fine, money there, you have to go to drunk classes, more money there, an alchohol evaluation, again more money, and some states will put you on supervised probation for up to 8 years. again, more money. think about it.

Because not everyone drinks,and usually when u get there you are sober.They need the parking lot for all the people who have to leave their cars their over night and pick them up in the morning when their sober.DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE,MAN

so if someone is the DD, they have a place to park the car or for a friend to park to come into the bar to get you to take you home.
