even the most weird shape or size of room will look totally welcoming and warm with luxury feeling to it - if you will paint walls with collors - nice rich wine or warm shade of gold-yellow

The best way to pick your colors is to start with finding colors that give you a "warm, comfortable" feeling. Find colors that inspire you - or make you want to be in that room - then pick a couple of wall colors - try to keep it down to 3 choices to keep from becoming overwhelmed. Take these samples with you to the carpet store - going through the same process - try to stay more neutral on your carpet - it is a more permanent part of the room - and more costly to change!!

really depends on your tastes. whiter colors make a room much brighter but can add a commercial feel to the room. just as darker colors will darken the room. also the brighter the paint sheen ( gloss, semi gloss) the harder a room looks. less shine to the paint (satin, eggshell or flat) soften a rooms look. i would recommend a navajo white(white/tan) or similar with a satin sheen and possibly an accent wall with another soft color. trim can be made to stand out with a semi gloss white that finishes the room out nicely. greys and browns in carpeting are the best at hiding stains and damage. but like i said this is all just my recommendation. your tastes may be nowheres near similar to mine.

THAT IS HARD TO SAY, SINCE I DO NOT KNOW THE COLORS YOU LIKE OR TYPE OF FURNITURE YOU HAVE. I LIKE MORE NEUTRAL COLORS , SO IT MATCHES EVERYTHING, MAYBE ONE WALL WITH A SLIGHT COLOR , MATCHING FABRICS
