Call your insurance company first. Ask them the same questions. Lots of insurance companies REQUIRE second opinions. If your doctor doesn't give you your records and welcome a second opinion, I would not trust him with the surgery. This is your body and you need to make an informed decision. As far as the tests are concerned...if they are interpeted tests where it is a doctor opinion as to the results...they might want to repeat it. If it is blood work or something that is decided by lab, computer or number then I would assume the second opinion doctor would use the old results in his/her opinion.

Hi there, you need to tell the other Doctor that you want a second opinion. He might repeat the test or if he is really good, he can,by reviewing your records get to another conclusion. Do get a second opinion on things like this, I say it is a must. Hope everything turns out OK with the surgery. May God bless you now and forever.
As far as payment call your insurance first to see if they cover it. If not well......do what you think is best for you.

Just find another doctor in your area. If you have insurance, they will more than likely prefer or require you to get a second opinion, just because of the possible cost of surgery.

Go to another doctor - dont tell him your getting a second opinion, just go in cold and see if what he says is in line w/ what your original doctor said. Definately dont get a referal from your original Dr - he may just support what the other doctor said.

I also needed a second opinion once, I was very open with my doctor... I told him that I wasn't sure I'm ready to do it without a second opinion, and he was very understanding. I asked him for my chart and all my information, so I don't think that other doctor will redo all tests.
Best of luck to you...

do not wait six months. i might recommend going to work out an inner drugs expert. whilst maximum of your indications are ENT appropriate the diagnostic fringe of your case isn't being nicely dealt with. A inner drugs expert is nearly a expert diagnostician (style of like Dr. abode). they'll spend greater time with you and supply you a definitive answer. i'm hoping this helps you and you sense greater clever quickly.
