Have the same problem with my family and my wife's family. We are British, they are Cuban. NEITHER get along with each other. So over the years my wife and created a mini-family of ourselves, our son, my wife's sister (her husband does not want to be part of our little mini-family either), my nephew, and his fiance, my neice. We all go to the movies together and to theme parks together. We have fun, like and love each other. I take all the photos, give copies to everyone. We got a van so we could all go together. The rest of the families? Still not getting along. They are missing all the fun. But that is THEIR choice! When the sister-in-law and her kids cannot go on vacation or to the movies, we take our "alternate" family; my son's 3 best friends and their 3 moms to the movies and on vacations. The moms also like movies and our vacations. into the van we all go. Again, the husbands would rather stay home. We also love and laugh.
Their choice. We are enjoying life.

Have 2 celebrations.
With the first family, take 1-2 people from the 2nd family to join in.
With the second family, take 1-2 people from the first family to join in.
Both families will spread the word about how nice the other family is.
Eventually, more members from the 'other side' will feel comfortable to mingle with the other group.
For everyone to get together for the mass celebration is a farce.
But I think if you do what I say, it will work.

That's sad, if I were you I would go to each family and tell them exactly how I feel , don't hold back,Tell them how it hurts you and that it's childish to act that way and that we only have one family and life is to short to let things get in the way of your family getting together, it won't hurt to try ,start this year for Christmas see how it goes invite them to your home and who all shows great and those that are to stubborn so be it you tried..Don't give up trying..One of these day's maybe all of them will come
around..got to start somewhere.
