Judge Islam by its teachings not by the actions of minorities
read the Quran
"But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." (The Noble Quran, 8:61)
"If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear God, the cherisher of the worlds." (The Noble Quran, 5:28)
"God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers." (The Noble Quran, 60:8)
"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers." (The Noble Quran 2:193)
“…take not life, which God hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.”
[Quran 6:151]
“…if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.”
[Quran 5:32]
“O you people, surely your inequity is but against your selves.”
(The Holy Quran, part of verse 10:23)
(Inequity is harming anything in creation without just cause.)
“Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Quran, 2: 256]
Allah also says in Quran: “If it had been your Lord’s will, all of the people on Earth would have believed. Would you then compel the people so to have them believe?” [Quran, 10: 99]
And Allah says: “So if they dispute with you, say ‘I have submitted my whole self to Allah, and so have those who follow me.’ And say to the People of the Scripture and to the unlearned: ‘Do you also submit yourselves?’ If they do, then they are on right guidance. But if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message. And in Allah’s sight are all of His servants.” [Quran, 3: 20]
Allah The Almighty has also said: “The Messenger’s duty is but to proclaim the Message.” [Quran, 5: 99]
"Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to God's will) in Islam. Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them)." (The Noble Quran, 15:2-3)
"Say, 'The truth is from your Lord': Let him who will believe, and let him who will, reject (it):......" (The Noble Quran, 18:29)
"Do not let your hatred of a people incite you to aggression." (Quran, 5:2)
"And do not let ill-will towards any folk incite you so that you swerve from dealing justly. Be just; that is nearest to heedfulness" (Quran, 5:8)
"God commands justice and doing good and giving to relatives. And He forbids indecency and doing wrong and tyranny. He warns you so that hopefully you will pay heed." (Quran, 16:90)
"Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious." [Quran 16:125]

Islam is a reliegion based on love.
Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed. It says:
"If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge."
[Al-Qur’an 9:6]
The Qur’an not only says that a Mushriq seeking asylum during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he should be escorted to a secure place. In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security?
This is exactly what Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an to promote peace in the world.
Islam comes from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It also means submitting one’s will to Allah (swt). Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (swt).
by the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book "Islam at the cross road" (Page 8):
"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated."
Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians i.e. Christians since generations. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.
The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book "Heroes and Hero worship", refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: "The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one. In one man’s head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men. That he takes a sword and try to propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can."
N how can Muslims use the sword? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion:
Truth stands out clear from error"
[Al-Qur’an 2:256]
Dr. Joseph Adam Pearson rightly says, "People who worry that nuclear weaponry will one day fall in the hands of the Arabs, fail to realize that the Islamic bomb has been dropped already, it fell the day MUHAMMED (pbuh) was born".
People have advised the Muslims not to attack non-Muslims; I request them to direct their well-meant advice to those authorities, who only claim to be ‘peaceful, peace-loving people’ and ‘peace-keepers of the world’, but ironically have attacked thousands of innocent Muslims under the theme ‘War on terror’. The noted writer Arundhati Roy states: "So now we know. Pigs are horses. Girls are boys. War is Peace."
The terrorist acts attributed to Muslim suspects, should not be attributed to Islam or the Muslims in general but to individual human weaknesses. Such human failings occur among all religious and ethnic groups. Recorded history has not witnessed an incident similar to the ‘Holocaust’. However, one is not expected to and should not attribute the holocaust to Christianity or to Christians in general.
A number of skeptics have made comments about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Skeptics allege that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was “a violent man, a man of war”. Some further state that "Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses … Muhammad set an opposite example” (remember Jerry Falwell?). These skeptics somehow fail to realize that far from being a man of war, “…he (Muhammad) must be called the saviour of humanity”, as described thus by George Bernard Shaw.

Not to put down Islam but in the Koran it mentions god in 90 different ways and none of them means love. Read the Bible and find the concept of the love of God is deeply rooted in the Bible. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life."

i think of the declare that Mohammed is a good guy is wildly incorrect. you are able to ascertain from the hadith collections (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) and Sira (biographies which incorporate Ibn Ishaq) that Mohammed did many adverse issues, those tie decrease back to the Koran and positively grant context. incredibly he began very peacefully and merely tried to cajole, yet then moved to Medina and have been given violent. That meant looting procuring and advertising caravans and killing human beings, and giving the ladies human beings as intercourse slaves to his men, himself being given 20% in accordance to a 'revelation' from Allah. Then attacking tribes and cities, back with looting and killing and stealing. there are various very undesirable episodes, like the therapy of the Banu Quaraiza tribe, all of whose men, inclusive of boys merely in puberty, have been given their heads chopped off at Mohammed's instructions, and the ladies human beings and youngsters have been offered into slavery (the tribe made a separate settlement with attacking Meccans). Or the cases of Umm Qirfa, Asma Bint Marwan, Kenana or many others who have been dealt with fairly badly. then you definitely can look at Matthew 7:15 that's Jesus' view of such prophets. Sura 9 is the 2nd final financial ruin of the Koran written, and that's crammed with hatred of the 'kufr', i.e non-muslims. He did no longer mellow, yet have been given harsher.

We can't believe that Islam is a peaceful and loving religion because of the many threats that has been thrust upon us on this site. That's why this religion is false and Christians and Islamics do not have the same God. Christians have the one true God and that's the God of Love.

the muslims are not trying to be a threat because all they really want is peace, but people keep invading countries and fighting against muslims because they are just muslims. muslims dont fight because they are discriminating against another religion, they fight to defend their muslim brothers and sisters in Islam who have been tormented and killed by disbeliving people who only fight because they hate muslims, and to benifit land or money. Muslims fight for what they believe in(Allah), not for a materialistic thing that will not benifit them in the afterlife. All muslims are trying to do across the worlds is to spread the word of Islam to people who are totally lost about it through the media and so forth. If you have noticed that after 9/11, lots of people in the US and all over the world have embraced Islam, for what reason? IT MAKES THE MOST SENCE BECAUSE THE QURAN WAS NEVER CORRUPTED. Muslims fight not only to defend themselves and their brothers and sisters in Islam, but to spread the beauty of Islam to others to save them from the hell-fire on the day of judgement. I have seen actual documenteries of US soldiers who have actually embraced Islam after fighting in Iraq. Why join the Army and fight for Bush's sake(when he doesnt really give a crap about you in the first place) when you could join a religion where you fight for a good cause, and that is for your creator(Allah). Allah is the one who can benefit you in alot of ways........not Bush. There is no sense in really fighting over in Iraq in the first place because them innoncent civillions did nothing wrong to us, so why bring harm to them? So think about the question YOU asked hunny when you really know nothing about Islam in the first place? The TV is not a place to get knowledge in Islam. Read the quran, and find out more about Islam through reading and discussing it with other actual muslims out there. I just reverted to Islam 5 months ago, and I didn't turn CNN on to embrace islam, and I sure as heck didn't go to a disbeliever who knew nothing of Islam. I read books, and I actaully hung around muslims to learn, and I have looked at life alot differently than I did when I was a disbeliver. The life you are living right no is nothing but play and game because what you are going to get in the hereafter is alot more important than the worldly pleasures of life. The hellfire didn't seem pleasing to me so I chose the path o f Islam to protect me from my past of drugs and alcohol and alot of sinful things that were to surely send me to the hell-fire. Inshaallah(god willing) that Allah guides you girl, and I ask Allah(swta) to guide as many people as possibe to Islam...........wow I am already seeing It today evreywhere around the world, Alhamdidallah!

Islam is based on the writings of Mohammed. He lived in the 7th century and had epileptic siezures in which he heard voices. He said the voices were an angel revealing "god" to him. In the '60s they called it LSD. But, I digress... Then there is the 6 year old girl he took for a wife. But, I digress again...
