beef 1-2 months because the beef has lots of tiny air pockets that can hold bateria so its best to use within a month of being put into the freezer
poultry-8 months and up to a yr b/c the chicken is a whole muscle, i can be stored for longer without fear of bacteria taking over

They say, who ever they are, 6 mnths! But I recently cooked a chicken that has been in the freezer well wrapped for 1 yr.
I also cooked a roast that had been in the freezer for 3 yrs!
But it was sealed in a vac bag. You know the seal-a-meal thing.
It was fine.

ground beef 3-4 months
If you shop at costco's you can return your meats and get store credit to buy new meat. I do it every spring. I clean out the freezer. As long as its theirs they don't care.
