Actually, the prayers contained in the Rosary all come from the Bible.
Putting them together in the form of the Rosary is part of the Catholic Church's tradition. By putting the prayers together in the way the Rosary was constructed a person can use the Rosary Beads as device to keep track of where they are in the Rosary prayer--no more, no less.
As we pray the Rosary we contemplate on meditate on the Mysteries of our faith. Hopefully, by such contemplation someday we'll be closer to understanding them. In the meantime the peace that praying the Rosary brings to our souls will hopefully make us better Christians.
Other issues: David G said that it wasn't in the "Christian" Bible. By that I'm assuming that you meant the "Protestant" version of the Bible or the King James version. Examine the history of your church, einstein---where exactly did the Protestant Church come from? (Hint: google Martin Luther) Also--where in the world do you get it that the Rosary came from the Muslims?
Dellow: you're pathetic and so is the website you suggested people look at.
Ted Nardo: the Bible counsels against loud repetitive prayer in public places for its own sake!

The prayers of the Rosary can pretty much be found in the Bible. There's the Our Father prayer...you can surely find that one and then the Hail Mary is from the Angelic Salutation to Mary (see Luke 1 : 28) and then ( Luke 1:42).
The Glory Be to the Father is a prayer to the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost....any Christian knows this. Then Rosary is a meditation on the life of Christ. Seems like a good thing to me. Many protestants actually say the rosary. It's not just a Catholic thing. If you want to meditate on something, this is the best thing to do your meditation on. The Mother of Jesus appeared to St. Dominic and gave him the Rosary. It is the strongest prayer against Satan. As we see in the Apocalypse, Mary, The Woman Clothed With the Sun shall crush the head of the serpent (Satan).

The concept and how to pray the Rosary is not written in the Bible..is a revelation from the the Blessed Virgin Mary
Here are some antecedents:
¨In 4th century prayer rope used by the Desert Fathers to count repetitions of the Jesus Prayer.
In c. 1075 Lady Godiva refers in her will to "the circlet of precious stones which she had threaded on a cord in order that by fingering them one after another she might count her prayers exactly".
Early to mid 12th century repetition of the Hail Mary prayer (in groups of 50) comes into use as a devotion.¨ www.wikipedia.org

The Rosary came from Buddahism, as did Nun's and dressing in Black, representing Mystery (this is part of the pagan apostasy of the Christian Church).

I believe that the Catholic Church took the idea from the Muslims as a means of counting the number of times you have said a prayer.
No it is not in the Christian bible.

Actually, it is derived from the Bible. And about repetitive prayers...it says not to pray in VAIN Repetition. There is nothing vain about the Rosary. The Rosary is the Prayer of the Gospels. And the Prayers of the Rosary come out of the Gospels.
It is correct in that about 900 years ago or so loose stones were used as a way of counting or marking the prayers and decades of prayers in early versions. Eventually beads were used and strung together so they could easily be reused. And yes, it is quite similar to the Muslim dhikr.
The prayers of the dhikr are generally a recitation of three phrases, each said 33 times (once for each bead): "Glory to God," "Thanks be to God" and "God is great," spoken in Arabic. This is followed with "There is no deity but the one and only God."
The Rosary is a CONTEMPLATIVE prayer. As you pray the prayers you focus in your mind the "mysteries", or events of the life of Jesus Christ. Yes, the Rosary is "Christ Centered".
It starts with the Apostles Creed: The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
The famous "Our Father" prayer...the prayer that Jesus himself taught us is next; found in the Bible (Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4) and starts each new decade;
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen
then to a set of three "Hail Marys";Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
and then you begin either the Joyful Mysteries consisting of The First Joyful Mystery THE ANNUNCIATION
The Second Joyful Mystery THE VISITATION
The Third Joyful Mystery THE NATIVITY
The Fourth Joyful Mystery THE PRESENTATION
The Fifth Joyful Mystery THE FINDING OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE
Then the Luminous Mysteries consisting of:
The First Luminous Mystery THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD
The Second Luminous Mystery THE WEDDING OF CANA
The Third Luminous Mystery THE PROCLAMATION OF THE KINGDOM
The Fourth Luminous Mystery THE TRANSFIGURATION
The Fifth Luminous Mystery THE INSTITUTION OF THE EUCHARIST
Then the Sorrowful Mysteries;
The First Sorrowful Mystery THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN
The Second Sorrowful Mystery THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR
The Third Sorrowful Mystery THE CROWNING WITH THORNS
The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery THE CARRYING OF THE CROSS
The Fifth Sorrowful Mystery THE CRUCIFIXION
And the Glorious Mysteries;
The First Glorious Mystery THE RESURRECTION
The Second Glorious Mystery THE ASCENSION
The Third Glorious Mystery THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Fourth Glorious Mystery THE ASSUMPTION
The Fifth Glorious Mystery THE CORONATION
Anyone...Catholic or Protestant who is familiar with the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and the life of Jesus Christ will recognize these chapters of His life.
Even the "Hail Mary" prayer comes directly from Luke's Gospel where Mary goes to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Luke 1:42 And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
The Rosary is repetitive but it is absolutely not vain repetition. To pray the Rosary one is drawn closer to Jesus through his mother. It is the Prayer of the Gospels and to pray it every day and to contemplate and be focused on Christ everyday will guarantee to keep you where you should be. And it is from the Bible, of the Bible, and about Jesus Christ and the Bible. The prayers of the Rosary are either directly out of the Bible or derived from Bible verses.
