I have read bits and pieces but it is hard to understand and very repetitive. Every once and a while i find a piece that holds my attention. I wish they would come out with a version that talks the way we do today. You know something like "And God said don't you eat from that Tree Adam...." in clear English. Then again the leaders of the church being all pompous and arrogant have messed the bible up enough, taking things out and making it the way they like it. It is a good book full of good advice but like i said its hard to read and there are a lot of......mistakes.(I am not sure if that's the right word). These mistakes are not created by God but by the ever present hand of man.

I have been studying the bible in some depth for a decade.
I know quite a lot. However in the scheme of things....in reality what I know would probably fill a thimble. Maybe.

Everyone needs to know it better, but what is more imporatant than knowing mere words is living and feeling it in your heart.

The early christians who had the strongest faith to die for thier beleifs did not even have an entire bible, but merley individual writings of some of the Apostles.

So one doesnot have to "know" it as much as follow the principles. The devil knows it better than anyone on earth but he does not beleive it, so knowing it has no value if you don't beleive it

I wonder how well anyone really knows it. We continue to debate even the most basic of material... we continue to have divisions over what things really mean. If anyone said that they really knew the people, I'd feel they were suspect... afterall, the Scribes and the Pharisees were really supposed to know their stuff, too.
