if you want to be a nursing assistant which is a cna most nursing homes will offer the classes, just check with the ones in your area. An RN is a registered nurse and you have to actually go to a college or trade school to get this degree.

You have misunderstood. An RN is a registered nurse and must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing with either an associate degree or a bachelors degree to be allowed to take the state board of nursing exam. If the test is passed successfully,a license is issued. Online universities that offer degrees leading to registered nurse status require an LPN ( Licensed Practical Nurse ) license or an Associate degree in Nursing for enrollmant. You will not find a nursing assistant course on line that will entitle you to become certified in any state because lacking credentials, you must be supervised by an RN in a clinical setting to gain the experience required for fulfillment of your course. Most community colleges offer nursing assistant courses and can range from 2 weeks to 6 weeks in length. Many nursing homes also offer either accredited courses of their own or will direct you to a local course.

Well if you are trying to be a nurses assistant which is a CNA you can go to a red cross center alot of them have classes you can take and its cheap from what i hear. I think that takes about 2-4 months something like dat. But if you want to be an RN you have to go to school fro 4 yrs and get your BA or you can get your associates from a community college which is 2 yrs ( but you prolly won't get a job, most hospitals want a BA for an RN). So you'd have to look up colleges that have a nursing program in your state and start from there.
