I have a problem with binging on sweets. I need to lose 15 pounds so I'm thinking of making a list of 15 reasons that I should watch how much I eat. I'm hoping by doing this, that one of the things on my list will help me stay strong. In other words, some days thinking that I have a reunion coming up will help while on a different day thinking that I hate how I feel in my jeans will help. I hope this idea helps you.

Ask yourself what was happening before the binge? Were you upset? Angry? Lonely? Trying to connect up the feeling/event that happened before the binge might help. If you find yourself in the beginning or middle of a binge, try to stop and check in with yourself. Ask yourself what you are hoping the food will do for you. Are you still tasting it? Does the tenth bite taste as good as the first? Just try to cultivate more awareness and remember, be gentle with yourself! Beating yourself up over it often induces guilt, which may then trigger another binge, keeping the cycle going.
If it's something that happens frequently (which it doesn't sounds like), and is interfering with your life, there are some really good therapists that specialize in eating issues. (I don't know if you have a therapist or not, so here's a link). http://www.edreferral.com/
Here's a great book for anyone struggling with binge eating: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...
Hang in there...

What has helped me more than anything is to focus on something else. Find something in your life that excites you, and takes your nind away from eating. Exercise is a good one, because it gives you that adrenaline rush that makes you feel good. Yahoo Answers has been mine. I come home from work and get on the internet and sometimes forget to eat. Of course I eat healthfully the rest of the day, and I have no life, but I have lost 13 pounds since I've gotten hooked on it.

Just think about what all that junk food will do to you. It's not worth it.
Also, there are children starving in Africa. It's wasteful and unhealthy to eat too much when some people will never have enough to eat.
I like to say, "Everything in Moderation."

there are types of food that actually encourages you to binge, and that's comfort food, junk food and sweets. these are the bad kinds of carbs and actually make you hungrier sooner and thus you binge. avoid them or take them in moderation. eat something wholesome, like wheat bread or brown rice or nuts for snacking. they fill you up and doesn't make you reach out for a bag of potato chips often. eat five small meals a day and make sure you eat healthy.
bulimia has something to do with what you are feeling emotionally. please see a psycologist or a therapist to help you sort this out before it comes back again. tackle your problem face-on and don't ignore it. be brave in asking for help. tlalking about it helps a lot in dealing with what you are feeling. please do this immediately.
always be with your friends and family who can make you TRULY happy, who do not berate or tease you or make you insecure. YOU decide on the quality of people you hang out with for your own sake.
good luck!

try chewing gum. If that doesn't work try running or doing something to get your mind off of it. Listen to music, or just eat celery. If it is a real problem dotn be afraid to go see someone if you need to!

MAYBE YOU NEED TO FIND OUT WHY YOU NEED TO GRATIFY YOURSELF WITH FOOD. IT IS AN EMOTIONAL PROBLEM, AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER SOME NEWER, HEALTHIER COPING SKILLS. SEE A PSYCHOLOGIST, AND AVOID PSYCHAITRISTS WHO WILL TRY TO GIVE YOU MEDS.
