I'm not talking about McDonalds Fries or any food chain, I'm talking about Home made. I make my fries with Vegtable oil.
I know Potatoe's are 45% Vitamin C, but when you Fry them does it reduce its Vitamins? Just wondering.

well, it depends if what kind of potato you are using....potatoes vary also in their nutritional value, glycemic index (this factors how much carbs a potato has, and believe me, some potatoes have lots of carbs while others have ok amounts), fiber, and calories. it also varies on which diet you are on. again, eating too much of anything will derail whatever diet you are on.
don't use vegetable oil as it is not good kind of oil. use canola oil or olive oil instead. those oils are more heart-friendly than vegetable oil. boil them, mash them, bake them, but don't make frying the only method of cooking.
there are vegetable and fruits that have more vitamin c, but beware of having too much vitamin c. it can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea. for more info on the effects of taking too much vitamin c, please look into the webpage below.
from my experience, taking vitamin c through modifying your diet to accomodate foods that have it is better than taking a supplement, as supplements are man made and artificial, and too much of it can cause you kidney to gather stones, as with taking too much pills and tablets of any kind. stick to the recommended intake and never go above it.

Vegetable oil or not, nothing deep fried is really healthful. If you really want potatoes and crave the french fries, make oven bake fries by cutting the potatoes in long quarters and season them with some spices and herbs before baking. Potatoes have some vitamin content but deep fying probably minimizes their benefit.

of course it's not healthy anymore..
u fries them with oil, remember?
potatoes' vitamin will spread out and mix with the oil u used.
unless u ate the french fries and drank the oil, maybe it's a lot better because "never waste the vitamin".(lol)

They are not healthy, although the thicker they are the less fat per portion there is ie shoestrings are the worst.
Cooking depletes most of the goodness.
That said, french fries are yummy and make a good treat from time to time.

any french fries fried in oil should be eaten very little or in moderation. if you are going to eat potatoes then you should bake them or microwave them. you can actually make french fries in the oven pretty easily with very little oil by slicing them and drizzling with a little oil and baking them on high heat on a cookie sheet. delicious if you subsitute sweet potatoes.
