No, but there must be evidence of its existence. I've never seen a million dollars in one place, but I have seen individual bills and coins and seen them in relatively large amounts. Therefore, I can conceive the possibility, yea even the probability that a million dollars is sitting somewhere in one place.
We can watch the evolution of astronomy as it evolved from the concept of the Earth at the center of the universe to the model we have today with the Earth orbiting the Sun and our solar system as a small part of the Milky Way galaxy with hundreds of other galaxies in the vast universe. There are tens of thousands of cataloged observations and measurements that have formed this model and its still being built. But I've never sat at the edge of the galaxy and looked at it.
The trouble with many "faith" (and we can discuss what real faith is in another question) based religions is that they then try to pretend that there is scientific empirical evidence to support their beliefs. I wouldn't trust the theories of a first century astronomer to get me to the moon, I don't see why I should find the observations of a first century theologian any more reliable.
When presented with the beliefs of aboriginal magic, many of us chuckle and chalk it up to superstition. But when facing the early superstitions of their own religions, many people simply refuse to evolve, all of a sudden modern science and learning don't count because now we're talking about Jesus, Mohamed or Moses.
I dropped my belief in an all powerful, prayer answering, manic depressive god of the old and new testaments long ago. Magical gates in the sky and harp music make great movie fodder, but hardly have a place in my day to day decisions. I have seen no empirical evidence that any such entity exists. Can we pretend that our individual experiences, our serendipitous events are evidence, certainly, but the reality is that they are not.
If your belief in Jesus, Mohamed, Moses or God makes you a better person without causing you to transgress the rights of others to believe and live according to their conscience then bless you and keep your beliefs. But it your beliefs cause you to attempt to dictate the lives of others and dispossess them of their rights to free participation in society then I shall be there to oppose you each step of the way.

Just because someone chooses to not have a religious affiliation doesn't mean that seeing is beliving to them. Take this for example and this does come from an atheist if you aren't aware after this statement. Throughout my life and maybe yours we have holidays in which we celebrate the birth of christ, or the death and resurrection of christ, but for some reason both of these holidays being Christmas and Easter respectively are also mixed in with a fabrication of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. And for what reason? I can't be sure, then we also have a tooth fairy that comes and takes your tooth and leaves something for the child (in some but not all cases, and probably none either). If they make these things up then why can't religion also be a fabrication for whatever reason it was made that way possibly to gain a following and try to make things their way instead of the way things have been for thousands of years. They tell us to have faith in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, along with the tooth fairy. But then we come to that point when the truth comes out, and funny how some parents told us at an earlier age or we found out by snooping and we were devastated in alot of those instances, while others just went about our lives. The same can be said for religion (and remember this is my viewpoint), fabricated things for some and real experiences for others.

Why is it that some people can be mislabelled atheists?
Life is such a complicated issue, death and suffering have made religeons that evolved into the religeons we see today.
maybe there is some magical answer.
Life even with all it's suffering, disease and death is magical enough without the need for a heaven being paved with gold or many rivers for muslims.
Believe in a god if you want... it is your right.
Ask yourself why would a god make what seems to be an infinite amount of galaxies
with so many stars and planets and just be concerned with one?
I think man made religeon falls apart at that point.
If you truly see everything that you can see you should see that it is vanity for man to think that one small species on one planet is the most important of all things.

Do YOU believe everything you're told? The moon is made of cheese... A ten-pound weight falls faster than a one-pound weight...
WHAT exactly is your question trying to get at? An atheist is the same as any other person in every respect but one... we're not superstitious. What is wrong with that? Why do you question what we do and don't believe it? WHY is that so important to you? Do you have doubts of your religious beliefs that were forced upon you by your up-bringing, indoctrination, brainwashing? Here's one proof: if you have grown up in a Jewish home, you'd be Jewish, if you were brought up in a Muslim home, you'd be a Muslim and if you were brought up in a Christian home, you're a Christian. WHAT do you know about other religions? What do you know about being a Mormon, Pentecostal, 7th Day Adventist or Scientology? Find out what others who DO believe something believe in and stop trying to ask annoying questions of those who don't believe and don't wish to believe in your superstitious beliefs. This way, you can spend your whole day speaking back and forth and using the Bible and the myths contained therein debating one another in the ways the same passages are misinterpreted by one or the other. At least you won't get flippant answers.

I'm an athiest and i don't have 2 see everything to believe it, but when i have reason to doubt it i will. My reasoning; the greeks and romans used to have a lot of gods, like for weather and for the sunrising. Now we know otherwise. have youever thought about in a thousand years or so, people will know that it is not a got whom makes things happen?
I'm only going to do things that are useful and i will use my time wisely.

No.
But I would like some -credible- evidence.
All the different versions of the christian bible, from the Old Testament to King James (and so on and so forth); the books all organized religions tell you to believe word for freakin word; books that contradict themselves and each other; those books don't count in my eyes.
Do you believe God wants you to keep slaves?
Do you believe God wants you to take "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth"?
Do you really believe that Dinosaurs DIDN'T EVER REALLY EXIST because the first living creatures were Adam and Eve; made in God's image; despite the tons of evidence to the contrary?
Do you believe God will really cast the billions of non-(insert your specific religion here) to hell cause they don't think like you do?
Neither do I. And that's why I am Agnostic.

education will do
as far as god is concerned, this is fantasy ,that was manufactured to mislead .manipulate and control lost souls who were groping in the darkness for reason
the story of Jesus was based on the story of Horus and Osiris ,and this was a symbolic representation of the life cycle of the Sun .
its purpose was to transform Paganism to the Islamic and Christian religions
the religion was based on the humanized story ,of these cosmic bodies and their events,by the descendants (illuminati)of the Anunnaki ,who was know as the creator but who was not a God ,but no more than a learned refugee from Mars before it was knocked out of Orbit
the Illuminati used this religion to manipulate, the Adams race, which was created by the Anunnaki (through genetic engineering and cloning)to mine gold for them ,and to this day controls this race(most of us)descendants.
over the eons the symbolism was totaly lost .
the myth was strengthened by continues application of false information
(i.e Leonardi da Vinci ,was one of many, and the shroud of Turin is such an example, as was the da Vinci code, humanizing the legend)
so that by now Jesus has become a real person .
however no one ever could agree on what he should look like.
and over the centuries, artists have made up several accepted versions. of the greatest con in all of Human history
Todays allies of the Illuminati are the bilderberg group, the Round table ,U.N,the Club of Rome(Vatican).and these control the world through war and finance.
they always have done so
and their method has been by dividing Humanity in to religious, cultural ,and political oposing groups ,which are then set against one an other
the New World Order (continued from Hitler) is their baby,
Bush and Blair are their present marionettes.
as al USA presidents have been (34 of them are related to Charles the great and Charlemagne,)the leaders of this world have always been, more or less one clan, including the Roman and even Chinese Emperors ,the Pharoes, the Popes,as far back as the kings of Babylonia.

Yes. In a time to come the Lord will sit on his throne in the Sky for 5 mos and than they will believe until than they won't. The bible say that an adutlerous generations seeketh after a sign, but the only sign that they will get is Jonah in the belly of a whale for 3days and 3 nights. Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:Mat 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed

The truth: that is not what defines atheism. Atheism is the belief of no higher being.... no god, no buddha, nothing. It is not the question of seeing it to believe it, that's not what atheism is after. My father is atheist, but the most spiritual person. He believes that all religions are based on the same thing. Do good and good will come to you, and that is something you can not see.... but you believe.
