It's not in the 10 commandments.
There is one however that says "You shall not commit adultery."
You might want to read some of these if you want to know what the bible says.
Leviticus 20:13
Judges 19:22-23
Romans 1:26-27
1Corinthians 6:9-10
1Timothy 1:8-11
It never says in the bible it's a sin "being" gay. However, lusting, and engaging in sexual activities, against someone of the same sex, is a sin.
But engaging in any sexual activities before marriage and lusting is a sin, no matter what sex.
It's really a matter of hate the sin love the sinner.
It doesn't matter what sin someone commits, we love them no matter what. We just don't love what they do.
I have a friend that's gay. I love him to death, however he knows I don't like the fact that he's gay. And I've explained to him it's a sin, he knows how I feel. And he knows I love him no matter what.

I am a christian and I wanted to answer this from my point of view. I believe in god and Jesus. But I also believe that in the bible it says one of the greatest gifts god ever gave us was free will. I believe that anyone who has strong feelings for someone should be able to have a relationship with whoever they want man or woman. Anyone who disagrees is merely Homophobic , but when you really think about it what is the difference between a couple of the same sex doing things , than what goes on in most people's bedrooms. I mean come on people no one is perfect and people should do whatever makes them happy.

Like anybody else, some gay folks are good people. Others are not. Their sexual preference has no bearing on their goodness, or lack thereof. And there is nothing in the Ten Commandments about gays. (or heterosexuals for that matter.)

Gays can throw better parties, they dont judge you singing along to cheesy music and and this is the most important part; fancy dress is pretty much obligatory. How many straight people would let you away with that hmmmm.

i left the catholic church because of the fact that they preach its okay, and then shun it in the other corner! i mean, in the ten conmadents it doesnt literally say "its wrong to be gay!" everyone tries to make it seem completely awful. its not. gays are still people no matter what we like. they(religions) try to make it like its okay to be with gays but its not okay to be gay... i cant even talk to my own parents because of that whole situation

First of all, you can hang with someone that does wrong and not approve of what they do. I have friends that have lied, cheated, stolen, etc. I don't condone that behavior, but we're told as Christians to be "in the world, but not of it"- i.e. be in the world, but don't act like everyone else and do what you know to be wrong. The Bible doesn't list homosexuality specifically in the 10 commandments, but it is mentioned in other parts of the Bible:
Leviticus 18:22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable."
Romans 1:24-28 " Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done."
1 Corinthians 6:9-19 " Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (this verse talks about those who have commited any of these sins and not been repentant of their acts)
Jude 1:7 "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire." (Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God because they were cities filled with all kinds of perversion, the Bible lists homosexuality as one of the things the cities were destroyed for -this story is found in Genesis 19:1-25.)
Homosexual behavior is always discussed in the Bible as sin. Historical Christian interpretation has consistently viewed homosexual behavior as sinful. The modern word sodomy even comes from the biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah.
There are those who take some of the passages of Scripture above and attempt to show that they do not really mean to condemn homosexuality. But these arguments fall short, and upon investigation become an obvious ploy to distort the plain meaning of Scripture. As applies to other doctrines of the Bible, one must avoid trying to interpret Scripture in light of one's proclivities, and instead, interpret one's proclivities in light of Scripture. The Bible is the grid. It is wrong to overlay your own grid on the Bible.
