I'm putting together a short eulogy for my self. i'd like to touch all bases just in case.

Well, I have to admit that it really would be bad form to ask them to avenge your death if you accidently killed yourself. I mean, what then? String you up and you're dead already? Flogging a corpse at the funeral pyre is usually not acceptable. Perhaps you'd like to put a few adendums in that Eulogy...especially if the Fates have been to see you recently.

I think it would be more appropriate to ask that justice for your death be served and those responsible be found and punished.
Depending of course on how your demise came about.
I don't know if avenge is the word. Unless you are living in Cuba and might be related to Castro- then avenge would be he word, You could arrange for guns and knives to be handed out in that circumstance.

Can't you ask to have certain people banned from attending your service, who have been really awful to you in the past? You know - private service only?
Why avenge? Are you expecting to be murdered? Lay a curse on your killer(s)? It sounds like good material for a novel, but not for real life.

I think that is very bad form to ask for vengeance. What good will it do you if you are dead? Besides, you should want to leave this world with peaceful, happy memories that your loved ones can hold in their hearts forever.

i think it depends on your culture. in some cultures you wouldn't need to ask. here in america.....well 3 out of the four above were kinda ruded out. different strokes...
then again, i wonder if it was their mother..... bet they'd be howlin for a hangin if it was one of their family died.

depends on your location and spirituality.
most religions frown on revenge killings. except..you know.
