crying in a dream depending on the dream you were having could be the situation in the dream. i've been working on a book about dreams for several years as the help us understand the mind better. as a retired researcher, i find the mind goes to the past, present and the future. people that are more emotional than others will have occurances in their dreams more than the average person.

To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions.
To see someone else crying in your dream, may be a projection of your own feelings onto someone else. If you do not cry in your waking life, then seeing someone else cry may be a little easier to deal with then seeing yourself cry.
To wake up crying, suggest the grieving of your soul and that you need to change your ways and how you approach things.
To dream that no one hears or responds to your cries, represents your helplessness and difficulties and frustrations in trying to communicate with others. You feel that your words are falling on deaf ears. Perhaps your dream is telling you to be more vocal and work harder to get your point across.

Well my dream dictionary says...
'To dream that you are in tears denotes that some affliction will soon envelop you.'
And that crying is a 'forerunner of illusory pleasures, which will subside into gloom, and distressing influences affecting for evil business engagements and domestic affairs.'
Which basically sounds like something will seem like it'll be good but will turn into bad, which will affect your work and home life.
I would try to remember what else was going on the dream... where you were, who you were with, what you were doing and see if that leads you to what the tears could be referring to.
Don't go crazy trying to figure it out though, you may come up with a false meaning and scare yourself into a bad decision.

Need more detail. A good idea would be to write your dreams down (being as detail as you can remember) right after you awake. My guess, it could mean either you are too emotional or not emotional enough. Do you remember why you were crying? Contact me wit more detail on this if you don't mind. I would like to help if I can.
Don't forget to apply it to your life and see where it fits in.
Dreams are helping you grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or physically.

don't try to interpet your dreams...
as you will spend your time trying to understand something with no meaning.
when you are asleep, your mind is easy to mess with because you are not actively awake and conscious to control the thoughts going in and out of it
And the devil knows that so he puts stuff in your dreams to confuse you.... when you wake up and are conscious
To keep this from happening, ask the Lord to bind the devil from your mind while you sleep. So he cannot put thoughts in your head while you are asleep.
You will still dream, but the weirdness and negativity will cease after praying this prayer. Sometimes you have to pray it more than once or every once in a while until you gain better control of your subconscious mind.

Your dreams are the only real place you can go to have a good cry by yourself, without anyone else knowing about it

crying in your dreams means that you will laugh in the future. I know this because in my culture "the middle east" , we analyze dreams, and i've done that my whole life. I'm happy for you.

Remember that a dream unifies the body, mind, and spirit. It provides you with insight into ourselves and a means for self-exploration. In understanding your dreams, you will have a better understanding and discovery of your true self.
