I'm an atheist and my beliefs are constantly challenged. One of my best friends is a hard-core Christian and we have debates about it all the time. My only reasoning for questioning my atheism standpoint is that I'm very open for proof or new ideas. Show me proof or a really good point and I might change my standpoint to agnostic, but until then there is nothing out there in my opinion.
Good question :)

It is human nature to doubt. Even doubters do so.
The most honest organizational statement is from the Skeptics Society..."where nothing is certain, and we are not sure of that."
I have wondered often about the existence of benign or malevolent non-deistic forces (a.k.a. Karma), and I have bouts of Deja-vu. But just because something is unexplained does not mean it is unexplainable.
I have altered my "beliefs about why I believe" as I have gotten older. I used to not believe in god(s) based on purely naturalistic grounds. Now I believe that I am an atheist because I do not have a need to believe in a divine god.

Yes, and i also modify my beliefs as the more
likely than not evidence dictates.
This is not so with the religious, they eat and deny they have eaten.Jehovah say a disobedient child is to be brought
to the city gate and stoned to death.
Jehovah says a divorced woman is not to be married. Jehovah says adulterers must be killed. You Religious folks do none of this, why not?
And weak unrelated quotes by Jesus that are not specific mean nothing as far as Jehovah laws being revoked are concerned.
Man made and unbelievable is what is really is.

Your question does not make any sense. How can someone who disbelieves doubt that disbelief.; they are in fact doubting the belief in God. How can you turn around and ask them if they have doubted their belief, when it fat that is what they did to get where they are. I am agnostic my self, and I truly believe that no one can know if God exist or not. If something like that did exist, you would not be able to comprehend its existence; no matter who you THINK you are. Just not possible, no one has that power.

My beliefs as an atheist? What like my belief that the sun will rise tomorrow morning? Not really, no. I suppose it's possible that it won't but in all likeliness it will.

I think it is very possible for an atheist to doubt his beliefs. God created man with a desire to worship Him, so an atheist who is doubting his lack of spirituality may actually be under conviction by God to return to worship the Creator.

ericbrame wrote that atheism is a 'religion'. That counts as one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Atheism can only be considered to be a religion in the same sense that not collecting stamps can be considered a hobby.

am not an atheist, but i have some friends that are, and when we start talking about religion they say see ya later.
Atheists, with all due respect, have weak beliefs. Christians are humans, and I admit that i have even asked myself if God really exists, but then God gives me strength and I open my heart to him.
Atheists think there´s no such thing, because a God, they think, will make them lose their freedom, but they don´t really know that God is Freedom. Atheists doubt about what they feel and turn agnostic about bealiving in a Supreme Being. Hope my opinion helps you.

you should question everything. Its more that I don't believe a god would be so petty as to worry about weather you believe in him /her or not. I wouldn't call myself agnostic because that doesn't convey my disrespect for organized religion which teaches people not to question.
